Eye doctor--Clear Choice Optometry

This place is awesome! I've never had such a professional and extensive eye exam, as I received from Dr. Marylin Hernandez. They are high tech, have a large space with a great staff and have a wonderful selection of glasses to choose from too. I was given a few samples to remedy my dry eye condition and found one that worked wonders--I appreciated being able to sample first. I really think that was helpful. I highly recommend!

I'm a local Ophthalmologist and refer many of my patients to this clinic due to the positive feedback they have about their experience and the clear and easy communication I have with the office. In this increasingly corporate and impersonal world, it's important for me to partner with other doctors who still put patients and the community first above profits. Clear Choice Optometry gave me an experience like no other! Dr. Hernandez was absolutely wonderful and put me at ease with all of the exams. She even offered me samples of lubricating eye drops. When it came time to get fitted for frames, Flor was a very big help! She took the time to find the perfect frames to fit the shape of my face. Clear Choice gave me great pricing on everything and I will definitely be returning for all my vision-related needs!

UPDATE 3/14/2025: I'm updating my prior review and upping the stars significantly (from the prior one star). Shortly after leaving my prior review (later that evening), Dr. Hernandez reached out to me to discuss my concerns. She listened to what happened, apologized and was empathetic. Moreover, she got me into the clinic the following day to assess my eyes as I was concerned about how quickly my vision appeared to have deteriorated. I am now wearing glasses with new prescription lenses, and I am hopeful the blurry vision and migraines will decrease. The replacement lenses came in quickly and this was all addressed within a week. I was asked to keep them updated on how my eyes adjust. In any case, only one star off here because I had to write that initial review to get things addressed to begin with. That said, I'm hopeful that I can continue going to this neighborhood clinic for my eye care needs for a long time to come. 3/7/15: I have been a customer of this place for years now, so please trust me when I tell you to go elsewhere. This is not the place to go if you want quality eye care. Under their "care," I have had continuous problems. Most recently, I received the proper lenses for my frames on Dec. 14, 2023, less than three months ago. Since then, I have suffered increasing eye issues, and over the last few weeks, blurry vision. When I contacted the office to ask for their help, they told me I would have to pay an additional $79 out of pocket for any consultation -- or wait until November. There was zero concern about the safety of me being out and about suffering from these vision issues. There was no effort to check the lenses to ensure the lab didn't mess up the prescription or any expression of concern that my vision may have changed dramatically or problematically in that time. Every quality company I've ever dealt with has stood by their products and provided at least a one-year warranty for their services and what they provide. In this case, the individual who I spoke to by phone not only offered zero empathy, but he appeared to laugh at my frustration. Shop here at your own risk. I have significant regrets and fear that my vision is deteriorating now due to these low-quality lenses that they provided me.

Very refreshing. Had bad experience with the optometrist practice I used prior to coming here. Both the office staff and doctor here were very pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. I have recommended to my wife and kids, good optometrists with good staff are surprisingly difficult to come by. Will use them again.

Staff doesn't seem friendly, came in and was greeted but in a very sad way. What I mean by that is, staff wasn't cheerful, no smile, seemed like they didn't want to be there. I thought it was just me, but as other customers came in, I saw they were greeted the same way. Staff should be more cheerful and greet customers with a smile. If you don't believe me, just walk in and see for yourself. Seemed like they were almost working like robots. Didn't like the first point of contact so I decided to leave.

Dr. Hernandez is the friendliest doctor (of any specialty) that I have ever met. Her office is clean and modern. Her staff is professional and responsive. I am happy I found this place.

This practice speaks for itself: Clear Choice. With many options out there, it all comes down to a "clear choice". Clear Choice Optometry is a well-established practice that puts patient care first! From start to finish, the appointments always run like clockwork! I've been coming here for over 15 years, and have always been pleased with my experience. Getting the chance to say hi to Dr. Hirano and discuss eye health has always been a pleasure. Since his recent retirement, Dr. Hernandez has taken over the practice. Exercising the same philosophy as Dr. Hirano, it's no question that Dr. Hernandez will continue that legacy with the future of Clear Choice Optometry.
