Did he retire? There's another ophthalmologist that saw my mom last time (we both see Dr. Shabatian) and he performed a tear duct procedure that she knew nothing about. Not ok. Going elsewhere, when we called the office about our concerns the MA said all she could do is notify the Dr. Go somewhere else, weird environment now

I arrived early before my scheduled appt. Office staff was pleasant and friendly. Staff was able to take me in ahead of my appt. The ophthalmic assistant was very thorough and professional with my vision vitals and history. Dr. Shabatian was very thorough and provided important info on my outlook on my vision. Very pleased with my visit.

my doctor spent minimum time with me, told me i had high cholesterol and high blood pressure and not to worry about my eye problem. i ran off to my gp frantic, paying a co-pay, only to find out i have LOW blood pressure and my cholesterol is in normal range. my eye problem got worse, but as i reached out to see him i was told that the office was closed on mondays and that they had no number for me to call in an emergency. luckily, i bothered to find another dr asap who discovered a possibly detached retina (causes blindness), sending me in for surgery that day. the surgeon ended up not doing surgery but will be monitoring me weekly until she is sure i am ok. they also told me to call with any further issues and they could get me in for surgery immediately. what i have since learned is that this office appears not to have half the diagnostic tools of other offices (or they don't use them). this is southern california. there are so many good doctors here. be choosy!

Having had an eye infection I was treated for over a month ago and thought everything was fine, during the exam it was identified there is some more treatment options for the condition I thought was resolved as well as some preventative measures for other issues that weren't previously identified.

I have been coming here for several years after being treated for a Megioma (a type of brain tumor)
that was surrounding my right optic nerve. Dr Shabatian is one of my doctors, and an excellent one, who keeps track of the remaining part of the tumor .His staff welcomes you as you enter & years later, it's nice to see the same friendly faces.
