Very friendly. I went for an emergency with no appointment. Doctor Goodman took me in and help me with my eye condition. She been my eye doctor for more than 10 years highly recommend her.
Also my son 8 months ago had injury at Ventura High School playing soccer with no appointment I walked into her office with my son she took my son and help him it was an emergency as well .
Dr. Goodman is awesome!!! She's so personable, makes you feel comfortable & explains everything so it's understood. I've recommended her to my work peeps & whoever else will listen! If you need an optometrist check her out!
I'm disabled and I can't drive so I have to rely on public transportation or otherwise. I've been waiting for this appointment 2 months now. I was refused service for a few minutes late. Better believe I will take my business elsewhere and make sure everyone knows they don't treat disabled and half blind if you're late. I bet like most Dr's offices that you'd make us wait longer than our scheduled time. I'm so disappointed by this I wouldn't even give it a 1.
Been a patient of Dr Goodman for many years. I trust her. Excellent optometrist. And staff is competent and courteous.
The doctor very friendly and personable. She did a great job! I highly recommend her to anyone.
Saw Dr. Goodman for the first time today, and I've NEVER enjoyed a visit to an eye doctor until now, much less felt as nurtured. She has a great sense of humor, too, so we ended up laughing a lot. She's such a delightful human! Alandra (sp?) and Rosa in the front are lovely people, too, both are patient and polite. Great experience!
Dr. Goodman and staff were all very professional. They explained what and why they were doing the different aspects of the exam before they did it. I appreciated this and the care to make me feel comfortable during the process.
This appointment left me feeling dismissed, emotionally drained, and really upset.
I have extremely high myopia. I am nearly blind in one eye, so vision care is a huge part of my life. Glasses and contacts are not just about convenience for me. They are how I function. I came in hoping to feel supported, but I did not feel like anyone really cared about what I was going through.
At one point, I told Suzanne that I felt insecure about wearing glasses. She did not acknowledge it at all. She just said, "Insurance only covers one or the other." That hurt. I was not asking for special treatment. I just wanted someone to listen and maybe offer a little empathy or reassurance.
I also asked if the chair could be raised because I felt uncomfortable, and she told me no. There was no explanation and no effort to help. While she was flipping through the lens options, I told her I saw a black dot that was getting in the way, and she did not pause or ask more questions. She just told me to pick "1 or 2." That made me feel rushed and like what I was saying did not matter.
I asked for help with a medically necessary form for my contact lenses, and nobody followed up. Suzanne said she did not even know what it was, and instead of helping me figure it out, they delayed my fitting. It felt like no one wanted to deal with it, and I was left hanging again.
She also told me she would order contact lens trials based on my glasses prescription, but when I got into the room, she told me that glasses and contact prescriptions are usually different. I was confused. I thought she would do the contact lens fitting after we sorted out the form, but instead, she told her medical assistant that she was just going to order the trials and have me come back later to try them. That was not communicated clearly, and I was not given the chance to ask questions or be involved in the decision. I had biked there and expected to be helped that day. I left feeling like my time was wasted and like I was the one inconveniencing them.
On top of all that, I had to pay a $15 copay, pay out of pocket for Optomap imaging, and was told I would need to cover $141 for my contact lenses because my insurance only gives a $210 allowance. I understand that insurance has limits, but no one offered options or acknowledged how stressful that is. When I asked the medical assistant about the medical necessity form, she told me it was not covered because I have personal insurance and not work insurance. That felt like an excuse instead of a real answer.
I am going to get care somewhere else. I just really hope this office thinks about how their actions and inactions affect patients. Especially those of us who rely on them to feel seen, supported, and safe.
