J David Karlin, MD

Absolutely horrible front desk experience. The staff member was rude, dismissive, and clearly annoyed to even answer basic questions. Her attitude was beyond unprofessional. She repeatedly insisted they do not accept my insurance. I called my insurance twice, and both times they confirmed that this office is in-network and that services would be 100% covered if billed properly. I told my insurance exactly what this lady said and they told me she was wrong. She then claimed my insurance was "through Cedars" which is completely false. My PCP happens to be located at Cedars, which is why it appears on my ID card - that does not mean my insurance is through them. This is basic information a front desk employee should understand. This level of incompetence and attitude is unacceptable, especially in a medical setting.

Dr.Karlin is great! He's amazing! He's not the reason this place is getting two stars. I'm giving it two stars,barely, is because of one of their staff. I thought they were unprofessional towards my family member. When they had trouble reading the chart, my Mom asked ' oh, left to right?' And the nurse/technician said, kind of rudely, "Yes,that's how it is in the American language." I thought that was rude and unnecessary. She could have just said yes and leave it at that. She did not need the extra commentary.

the doctors are very trustworthy, reliable, and dr. karlin's bedside manner is great! it is however, hard to make an appointment, i often have to call multiple times in a day for a couple of days to get through to someone. the admin team has also missed some details on my prescription sheets, so i had to drive back home from where i was trying to buy glasses and 20 mins back to the office for them to fix it. doctors are wonderful, staff have been pretty kind, but the administration has made me want to leave.

Dr Karlin was a very professional and kind doctor. I went to his office for the first time the other day and had an amazing experience. His office looks very clean and modern. His staff were friendly and did not take long to help me out. When Dr Karlin came in we had a very short appointment and he immediately knew what was wrong with my eye. I had a great experience and would come back!

I walked into this office with no appointment. My eyelid was as puffy as a pink marshmallow. They were very kind. I waited about 20 minutes and they got me in to see Dr. Karlin. He knew what the problem was right away. He checked my eyelid. He told me exactly what it was. He took time to explain how it got like that and then took the time to give me the prescription and explain how to use it. I have a chalzen which I have had before. This one was more intense and I couldn't really see where it was forming. He took the time to explain everything to me. Kudos to him to the office staff. That was so nice for somebody who just walked in and was never a patient. They handed me the new patient forms to fill out with an envelope. It wasn't mandatory that I did it then and there. They couldn't have been nicer. Thank you so much!!

Dr. Karlin is the best doctor I've ever had. He is incredibly responsive, even answering my calls at 11 PM and texting me daily to check on my progress. His dedication is unmatched. He also referred me to top specialists, including a neuro-ophthalmologist, TED doctor, psychiatrist, and endocrinologist, ensuring I received comprehensive care. I highly recommend him for his expertise and genuine concern for his patients.

I visit Dr. Karlin once a year to have my eyes checked for Diabetes. When I arrive, I enter a very clean and modern office, very friendly staff, One of his nursing staff gives me my vision test, prepares my eyes for other tests, explaining every step of the way. After having all my test, Dr. Karlin comes in, reviews all the tests, takes a look at my eyes himself. Make sure I understand any findings or advice to keep my eyes healthy. I've had my share of doctors, and Dr. Karlin is one of the best. I never have to wait, at the time of my appointment I'm called in, my visit is never rushed. Every yearly exam has been the same, I don't understand anyone posting a negative review.. it's a pleasure to be a patient of yours.

Dr. Karlin is very kind, and proactive. When I came in the first time my eye pressure was so high he did an immedate in-office procedure that brought it down AND cured my eye pain which I had thought were migraines. Later surgery resolved my glaucoma so now my pressure is normal!
