Specialty Eye Care Med Center

Let me start off by saying this: Nicole at the surgery center in Glendale is AMAZING! Dr. Houvanesian's level of care is at best minimal. Thankfully I was able to switch drs ASAP. Specialty eye care is like a chop shop for eyes. I had a misdiagnosed retinal tear, cataract and retina surgery were extremely painful and Dr. H is extremely rude. My new surgeons at The Macula Retina and Vitreous Center are spectacular, they were able to fix the unattended eye pressure of 47 immediately. I had a 2nd tear from so much scar tissue and when I was operated by my new Dr- no pain during surgery whatsoever. Specialty eye care has no regard for their patients concerns and or recovery process, and after surgery you are immediately rushed out. You're just a number in line. If you are able to change drs. Please do so ASAP!!

Waste of time I was told appointment was at 9:20 get there is @ 10:45 mind you im paying out of pocket. They charge me right away that I checkin and still had me waiting 1hr+ let everyone else that came way after me go next. Ridiculous dont come here is a waste of time!

I had an appointment at this place and checked the reviews beforehand, and I was surprised by how bad they were. I decided to keep my appointment and try it for myself. Alisa, the assistant, was incredibly nice and helpful, and I didn't have to wait long for the doctor to see me. My appointment was on time, and the whole process was smooth and efficient. Everyone in the office was so nice to me. Maybe the service was different before, but I totally love the place now. Sometimes you can't judge by the opinions of others; you have to try for yourself. I will definitely be back!

Emails not returned. I was disconnected twice after being on hold for some time. Finally after, speaking with someone I felt I was bothering her. I was asking for additional information from my eye exam which was not on my prescription. The information was not available. I needed this information to order glasses. I have decided to go to a different eye doctor.

Insane! My Dr's office kept sending me to an eye tumor specialist instead of a brain tumor doc (since it was affecting my eye). I was scared and upset because I kept going blind on my left side and reached out to them for help on the website to get the right referral. They took it as an insult and called me to come in the next day at 12:30. I'm single and have to take off in this expensive town (was saving my leave for 6 weeks of radiation) and got there at 11:45. Apparently they lock the doors everyday at noon and this was revenge for the "complaint". They only speak Russian around me which I know enough to know they were screwing me over but I was so afraid to start over with such a time sensitive issue. Be warned and stay away. I didn't know healthcare could be this petty, immature, and flat out insane. So rude!! Rudest people ever. Zero empathy no matter what you're going through and this year has been a nightmare!

What kind of business can't email you a receipt of payment?? Need it for my insurance company to get reimbursed through FSA & this practice doesn't have that. Are they back in the 1900s??

It is a truly wonderful eyes care center, clean and stylish. The staff is friendly and professional. Dr Steven Yoon is a brilliant eye surgeon. Very likable as well. He removed the growth in my eye fast and painless, there was no bleeding, no sweeling, no side effects. I'm very pleased. Talis Alex Varden.

I may have brain swelling. This place told me they were booked up til September found another ophthalmologist but not trusting his word either then I called back to this place and now they're saying they're all the way booked till October stop taking people's insurance if you're not going to take people seriously. What a horrible attitude he had as well. Hung up in my face.
