Retina Center Of Western Colorado

I have read many mixed reviews about The Retina Center. My personal experience has been nothing but excellent. I have an eye condition that requires me to have eye injections every 5-6 weeks. I have seen doctors in both Arizona and Utah over the past year, both doctors in those states were very good and I was very happy with them, but since my seeing Dr. Pollard and their staff have been amazing! When having to get injections in your eye, you definitely have to trust your doctor and Dr Pollard has been nothing short of exceptional!

I have been a patient of Dr. Waterhouse for a little over a year. I came to The Retina Center with a detached retina in my left eye, I was treated very well by everyone at the office, they are such caring and compassionate people and I would recommend them to anyone needing advanced eye care or surgery. Were it not for the great skills of Dr. Waterhouse I could have lost my vision, I can't imagine anyone else treating me, thank you all so much for giving me a good outcome in my vision.

I scheduled an appointment but had not gone yet. I got a missed call on my phone that did not say where it was from. I called the number back and said "I just got a call from this number and I'm calling it back." The woman that answered said, "a lot of people make phone calls." I said "sorry I'm just calling back, someone called me with this number." She replied rudely "a lot of different people make phone calls from this number." It caught me off guard how strange that was to answer a call from a business. I explained there was no info with the number that called and asked who am I speaking to. She then said it was the Retina Center. She put me on hold and then whoever came back on said they had an earlier appointment if I wanted it. It was strange. I see a lot of bad comments about how rude people are at this office. I'm thinking about finding another doctor to see.

Over the last four years I've had macular hole repair surgery, first the left eye then the right eye, performed by Dr. Waterhouse, Retina Center of Western Colorado. I have since had follow up appointments, all showing positive results for both surgeries. I am in awe of the professionalism of Dr. Waterhouse and his entire staff. They took care of everything for the surgeries and all appointments, all I had to do was showup. Dr. Waterhouse and his staff are all kind, understanding, and patient. No question goes unanswered. Dr. Waterhouse gave me sight.

Avoid this place at all costs!! The staff and management are incredibly rude, dishonest and truly awful. If you don't respond within one hour to a missed call to confirm your appointment then they will cancel it without your consent or knowledge....who does that?! It's 2026 and they don't even have a website for goodness sakes which tells you all you need to know about this backward, Podunk joke of a company.

Retina Eye Center provides a valuable service for those needing specialty eye care. The doctors and the staff at Retina Eye Center are always very professional on time and treat you with compassionate care, if we did not have the Retina Eye Center in Grand Junction, Colorado those of us needing special services like they provide would have to go to Salt Lake or Denver.

After many years of working with Dr Harder he was overbooked and I was asked if I'd like to see Dr Pollard. I agreed and have been seeing her since. She provides information that you can easily understand and clearly discusses options and navigates a care plan that can be complex. I've had eye emergencies come up on a Sunday and Dr Waterhouse opened the office to see me which was wonderful. He assured me that we drops and close monitoring I would be fine and he was right. I have had issues with billing before I got on Medicare and did lots of advocacy on my own behalf but worked through it. The doctors there are wonderful and the support staff is caring and kind!

Dr. Pollard is so compassionate and explains this really well. The staff are all friendly, professional, and efficient. I really appreciate how quickly they get me back. At other retina offices I have waited for hours, but never here! I'm always back in a room within a few minutes. I am really glad to have such excellent care!
