Parkview Family Eye Center

I've been going to the practice for about 3 years and I will not be going back. I made and appointment to be seen for my yearly. I get there and they ask me for my insurance as they couldn't verify it but I tell them my insurance changed. I tell them is blue cross blue shield and even emailed them my information card that has all of my information INCLUDING my vision insurance, they proceed to keep asking what insurance policy is it and tell the I don't know shouldn't it be on the card. Well long story short I missed my appointment because the front desk was lazy, didn't look up my insurance and kept telling me all they had was "this" even after sending my card. I finally tell them what vision plan it was after looking at the card for one second and all of a sudden they find it in literally under a minute and start apologizing because the knew they could have just looked it up the whole 20 minutes they had it and but instead I miss my appointment I drove 1 hour and 20 minutes for because people don't want to do there job. Not the first time the front desk is lazy at this practice either. Mind you I am also a receptionist and I always try to do my best for patients and all of this could have been avoided if someone just looked at my card for 2 seconds instead of repeating an insurance I told them I didn't have anymore and I knew I was in network with them because I called and confirmed with my insurance before hand.

After 22yrs of going to this Clinic I will NEVER go back, Dr. Staughter was a great Dr, reason why I returned for so many years. However the more recent Office Manager is an absolute WRONG FIT for this office, I was so disappointed in the last pair of glasses that I received from them. I tried to tell him numerous times that I could not see through them, they were blurry as heck and he wanted me to drive home with them so my eyes could adjust and get used to them. Well that would be dangerous not only for myself but everyone else on the road, I called the next day and asked to speak to the eye Dr that did my exam ,the front office said they would give her the message and have her call me back which she never did(not my regular Dr though). I had to see a different Dr due to my regular Dr was out of the office .I'm not sure if she was ever given my message, I have now called to another clinic to schedule my yearly appt, only to find out that whomever does the billing falsified information stating that I had used up all of my benefits for the year. My last exam was Aug 2024, I picked up my eye glasses Feb 2025 due to the extreme high price I was charged .I made partial payments until I could make the final payment and pick up which was Jan 2025, the total was $400.00+ I have VSP Insurance and I have not had any issues with my coverage until now when Parkview lied about me seeing them this year, I have to prove to the Insurance that my last appt was in August 2024, and not Feb 2025 like Parkview lied about. What a mess, I'm glad to take my eye care elsewhere..... UPDATE 10/10/25 So I did call the office 3 x on 10/09/25, still no answer. I left a message all 3x, I have not heard back from Parkview eyecare center as of today. I also called VSP again and mentioned the issue, the lady I was speaking with asked if she could put me on hold while she called Parkview herself from a medical line.*SURPRISE* they answered, she spoke with a gal named taylor. Well taylor said she would not change the falsified documentation , *NOT SURPRISED*.. I will never recommend this place due to poor management and how they provide such bad customer service. Shame on them!!!

Dr Patel, very friendly--explained things clearly and knowledgeable despite being a diehard Viking fan. Great experience! Very personable.

Dr. Patel is very personable and enjoys getting to know his patients. He makes you feel welcome and answers questions. Everyone who works here is friendly and helps you find cost effective options for glasses and contacts. The nurse I had for my initial exams made me laugh and made the eye tests easy.

This is my second year going to this practice. Yesterday I had an appointment in the morning and everything went great. Every single person I encountered was very friendly and helpful. My daughter also had an appointment later that day and we saw the same people except for the person who checked us out. Again everyone was super friendly and helpful EXCEPT the lady (Laura) who helped us check out. Laura was extremely passive aggressive with our entire encounter, especially after she found out we wouldn't be buying any glasses that day. She even made a snide remark to my 13 year old daughter about the way she wore her glasses. She even "forgot" to give me her prescription and when I brought it to her attention she seemed put out. This encounter ruined our whole experience and doesn't make me want to return. It's truly sad how one person can ruin the whole process.

I'm not an easy customer due to my eye condition, but Dr. Stauter and the entire staff are friendly, patient, and compassionate. They take the time needed to make sure everything is just right. The front desk is always helpful, but they were even more so when I had an insurance issue. Phone calls from Taylor add sunshine to the day. She's just so happy. And Dr. Stauter is patient and kind; determined to get me the best vision possible. I'm very pleased and thankful for everyone at Patkview Family Eye Center.

Dr. Mikula is wonderful, but over the last couple years the office has become so poor, it's been hard to overlook. No one answers the phones. Ever. The answering service that is off site is just as unreliable as the actual office. Each time myself or one of my five family members need to order contacts, it's a seemingly impossible feat. This past experience in December will likely have been the last straw. I spent the better part of the month trying to reorder contact lenses. Multiple calls, multiple voicemails, never resulting in a return call. The second time I got a hold of the answering service, they told me that my prescription had expired in June. This was after three weeks of me attempting to get in contact with the office. They informed me that there was nothing that they could do without a written prescription and that it had nothing to do with Dr. Mikula but that things had been a struggle since "it went corporate." Unbelievable. In my 48 years I've never experienced such a lackadaisical/nonchalant attitude and absolute detachment as an approach patient care.

I had an excellent experience at Park View Eye Center! From the moment I walked in, the staff was welcoming and professional. The waiting area is clean and comfortable, and the appointment process was smooth and efficient. Dr. Monique Mikula was thorough and took the time to explain everything clearly. I felt very well taken care of and confident in the care I received. I highly recommend Park View Eye Center to anyone in need of top-notch eye care!
