I have been a patient of Dr.Seo for about 13 years. I thought he was a terrific eye doctor and I had great respect for his expertise. I went to see him about 2 months after having non-cosmetic eyelid surgery. My vision was not the same post-op, being blurry and double. I called my surgeon twice but did not get a call back. I decided to make an appointment with Dr. Seo, as I was really worried. When I was in the appointment, I will admit I was somewhat nervous, but I thought I was compliant with his instructions. He told me sternly that if I did not relax, he was stopping the exam. He examined my eyes, explaining that my eyes were "off" due to my eyelids being readjusted. He continued with the exam with reading charts again. I said to him that I thought I could read one particular line, I was just focusing. Dr. Seo then said to me "focusing is not relaxing. I am stopping this exam right now." He then pushed the machine away, and accused me of only coming to see him because I was mad at the surgeon. I replied, "I came because I respect and trust you." He then pulled out my folder, saying I have prescriptions -- he has only told me to use OTC magnifiers after my past exams-- and he said I have one for distance. He said you can go to the dollar store and "just spend $2 and get 200 magnification glasses for distance". He also then, accused me of not getting the 200 magnifiers for 'distance' in the past. He was so angry with me. I was then dismissed. To say the least, I was very upset and still am.
I have since gone for a second opinion and do in fact need glasses to wear all the time. I cancelled my next appointment with Dr Seo and will never go back. I have an appointment with the eyelid surgeon to discuss all this soon.
I'm shocked that after raving about Dr. Seo for years he told me not to refer anyone to him, that his practice is full. He said, "Don't waste your breath". I hadn't been there for 2-3 years and needed an emergency visit for a foreign body. He said I was difficult and asked me not to come back. Every time I tried to speak he accused me of arguing with him. I don't understand what happened to Dr. Seo, he used to be a nice person. I guess success got to his head.
Dr. Seo is outstanding. His medical knowledge, experience and diligence is unsurpassed by any other doctor. And, his kind, compassionate and understanding style make every medical vist to his office a pleasant and medically productive activity.
I highly recommend Dr. Seo.
