Told my wife no coverage after I went one week before. Called today. They didnt care whatsoever. Actually told me my wife may not be covered without looking. I have a family plan from one of the largest Healthcare firm. The lies from this disgusting place is astounding. Go someplace that cares else. Your eyes are worth it.
I did not have a good experience at this eye care. I asked one of the receptionists if I could speak with the doctor again, but with someone to help me translate into Spanish, because my child is only 6 years old and I wanted to understand better how to manage the situation with his glasses. The staff was not very helpful and I felt they did not take the time to explain things clearly. As a parent, this was very frustrating.
Dr. Kalustian is the best! Don't know where all these bad reviews come from but I been seeing him for over 10 years and I am happy with him. Humble and transparent. The new office staff is not the best but life changes. Yes I had to go to a specialist but only once.
I am leaving this review for any future patients that wish to see this place. While it may seem that the staff is nice, once you disagree with the staff or especially the doctor they will start to push you aside. For example now I cannot make appointments, they ask that I call every day to see if a cancellation is available and then the doctor can see me. The reasoning because I have missed a few appointments. But this is all connected because I disagreed with the doctor on a prognosis which lead to him flagging me as a patient. If you want to avoid a situation like mine I would advise you find another doctor that actually listens to their patients instead informing and pushing them aside.
My first experience with this Eye Care facility.
The care and concern appeared professional. The company policy whereby it is up to the physician to randomly prescribe medication or provide a referral, which triggers additional costs to the patient, is THEFT!
I was informed that an additional charge would apply if the doctor has to provide a referral or medication. I REQUIRED NEITHER. I informed the doctor that I have a current pair of glasses and I currently use eye drops. The doctor recommended a new but comparable pair of glasses and new eye drops, which is a different manufacture but basically the same eye drops.
I did not need nor request new glasses or eye drops. At the exit of my visits, the front desk team informed me that I owe additional payment because the doctor recommended OVER THE COUNTER EYE DROPS! Which I have already, a different brand but the same thing and nothing I needed. The admin stated that's the policy! No room for consideration nor common sense. THIS IS A SCAM LOCATION masked as an Eye Care Center! Horrible policy to generate additional payment.
I never EVER do reviews. This is actually my very first review on anything. That being said. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST medical professional office I have EVER been to. Front desk never bothered to even acknowledge me ..never mind receiving a welcoming greeting as a new patient. They were too busy talking amongst themselves....from the conversation it was personal and not work related. Simply handed me the paperwork to fill out and waved me off to the waiting room. The Tech (dressed in jeans) who brought be back to the testing area never bothered to warn me of the stair that was there that if you weren't looking down as you were walking you would miss it, so I tripped. Doctor nor tech could be bothered with coming back out to the waiting area to accompany me to the operatory ...simply yelled my name from three rooms away and waited for me to play hide and seek and find him by myself. Which explained why the front desk is allowed to treat and receive patients as if they were a nuisance instead of a valued patient. Even upon calling the office, your call is answered and addressed as if you were a telemarketer bothering them. I was told my glasses would take a week. A week later I was advised it could be almost three weeks. For a simple prescription nothing fancy. The appearance of the office was at first a little taken back..it's more like a hole in the wall than a medical professional office. I was expecting roaches or rats to jump out any minute. However the treatment of the entire staff made it make total sense. As the practice administrator of a medical office my staff would be terminated immediately for the treatment I received as a patient. Vision Consultants in Stamford accepts all the same insurance policies and treat their patients with care and concern through the entire visit and you can receive your eyeglasses within a timely manner.
Everyone in this office has a very pleasant attitude. The front office staff are very helpful even when there are a few minor glitches. The back of the house girls are very nice and accommodating. The doctor is very informative, and answers all of your questions. Explains all of the tests he does and what he is looking for. I have had a very good experience with this office.
Unfortunately I have to give 1 star due to front desk personnel, Dr. Is very nice and knowledgeable. I called 2 days before to ask if I had to pay for my daughters appointment, she wants contacts lenses and we have Husky. I was told no we don't have to pay, husky will pay for the consult but not for the contacts which I thought so. We go from Norwalk to Stamford and my daughter has not put a step inside the office and a very unprofessional male tell her YOU HAVE TO PAY $134, they never greet her which it's ok we are not Queens, but manners and professionalism you must, at least in a business and a doctors office, I explain that I called for that reason, because we come from Norwalk, we were told "That's how is" again by this male person and that we had to pay, which it's ok, but he was rude and even mean, he CAN work on those collections agencies, that don't care if a person is in the hospital bed, dying and will ask for payment still.
We felt shock and aggravated at his attitude where we have not even say Hello. Unfortunately I will find another place as there is many eye doctors. I don't recommend cause front desk staff is very important. I work at a dentist office and I care for my patients and want to treat them well and respectfully.
I felt the need to give this review as I know that office staff can make it or brake it in an office.
