America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

New to Jacksonville, I called a couple of America's Best to find the most convenient location w/friendly staff members. I called this location twice, talking to Brian and Kim, checking on exam pricing and to schedule an appointment & they were both very patient w/me. Once I arrived, the young woman at the front desk and Kim were friendly, understanding and patient - this was the same with the tech and Dr. Sahand. Cassie helped me with finishing my paperwork, payment, and ordering process. She, too was patient. I would recommend this location and River City, where the woman who answered the phone there answered questions I had as well as sharing that her location might be a little too far for me to travel. I was impressed by how professional and pleasant everyone was on a day that I really needed customer service experiences with people who do their jobs well. I will say that I've been fortunate to have quite a few similar experiences at various businesses in Jacksonville.

I had a very good experience here yesterday. Sam wasn't really friendly; she seemed annoyed to have to do my pre-exam. Ashley was absolutely great, as well as Michelle; both ladies helped me up front with my glasses. Dr.Quan was excellent- personable, professional and knowledgeable. I will continue to go here for my needs and no longer go to Walmart.

The optometrist Mr. Kwan at the Atlantic location was completely unprofessional. It's apparent he has no patience for those whose first language isn't English, as well as the elderly. Just for reference, I took my dad there a few weeks and he is in his 70s and it was his first time at an eye doctor so he was a bit nervous. Mr. Kwan was very condescending. Instead of explaining the procedure in way that's helpful, he just mocked the elderly saying it should be self-explanatory. If you cant understand/answer his questions he automatically thinks you're in mental decline. He cannot differentiate subjective visual health and behavioral health. If you have a hard time understanding/speaking English, go elsewhere. He's there to sell glasses nothing more. He will also tell you what you want to hear and lie to your face instead of what he actually thinks, especially if it means not having to explain anything. Pretty surprising being that he's supposed to tell you his professional opinion on spot. He's willing to lie to you just so he can get you out the door and move on to the next money grab. Overall I am disgusted how Dr. Kwan conducted himself. Save yourself the trip, and go elsewhere. Cause patience for the elderly and non-native English speaker, and general honesty are not this optometrist's strong suit.

My experience there was so wonderful the staff is very friendly and inviting. Very informative about how the process goes. Big huge shout out to Mrs. Michelle, she is the one that informed me of the good deals, also very friendly and by far the best person to my knowledge that works there. Thanks so much.

Donnell was the best. I came in with a pair of sun glasses that had an issue with its lense. He was able to get a new lense for me free of charge. He was so helpful and I will definitely be back when I need another pair of glasses!

Absolutely the worst customer service. Went in with husband to pick up his glasses. Walked in and stood there for a minute or 2 waiting for acknowledgement from receptionist. She was not in the middle of anything. Not a greeting of any kind from receptionist or anyone else for that matter. (Several people sitting at their stations with only 1 waiting on a customer ) When we finally asked for assistance, she acted as if we were a big inconvenience. After handing over the glasses she immediately went back to her desk without a word and did not offer a fitting. When he said can I try these on to make sure they work, she rudely said "we don't have anybody here for that." When I asked when the doctor/ or qualified person would be there to assist in that?" She ignored my question and we ended up just walking out due to this unprofessional behavior. We would never go for new service again. Unfortunately, glasses don't fit, they are VERY loose, so we may be forced to deal with them again. Oh and for the record, these were NOT their discounted frames or glasses. What a sad excuse for an establishment that advertises themselves as a reputable eye care place.

Fiona at the front desk was very helpful and nice. Dr Quan did a good job examining my eyes and making sure everything was fine despite it being a long time since I last saw someone. Michele at the front was very nice and helpful as well in checking me out. Don't think twice about using them. They are great.

The assistant manager had agreed to refund part of my glasses since I wasn't satisfied with the results and the manager claimed to have more authority and couldn't help me at all. Horrible communication amounts staff and horrible customer service. I was truly disappointed with their services. He said "I'm gonna give you a better single glasses for the same price (a single vision instead a progressive glasses price)
