Anthony Favale, OD

I started seeing Dr Favale after relocating to Jacksonville in 2016. He's such a vibrant and caring optometrist and his original staff did great work. I hope Dr. Favale has a lovely long life after retirement. He has the best honey I've had in decades and I hope he continues having success with his homestead business. After covids and the unfortunate acquisitions of independent optometrist by MyEyeDr, now owned by Goldman Sachs Group who purchased Capitol Vision Services; this office as well as another I have visited have terrible issues with quality control and attentive customer service. Most of the employees are quite friendly but lack a bit in critical thinking and extending personalized attentive care towards patients, their time and health of their eyes. I do not fault Dr. Favale for these unfortunate changes and wish him all the best.

About two months ago I started receiving email/text messages that it was time for me to schedule my annual checkup/exam. I received more than I can possibly remember. My doctor was all booked for an extended period, so I put my name on a waiting list for an opening and waited. When one came up for today, September 27, I booked it. Since then I have received constant reminders of that appointment, including one today, and did an online sign in to save time. I was asked to arrive early, so I did. Filled out the additional paperwork, sat down and waited to be called. After almost an hour, someone came to tell me that my doctor will not see me today. When I asked why, I was told because he was retiring and doesn't do these exams any more. So why all the emails, text messages, on line check in, appointment reminders, paperwork, waiting in the waiting room, etc, etc??? Let me tell you, I was livid (to put it politely). I was told to contact another office and try to schedule a new appointment there. It was not a very nice day and now I have to start the process all over again. I will admit that I probably owe an apology to a couple of the office staff.

I have been seeing Dr. Favale for years. He and his staff do an amazing job and I would not go anywhere else!
