I was sent to Dr Schmidt by the ER physicians at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida--November 2025.
After the ER did a full work up to rule out stroke, it was determined my eye was the issue but I would have to drive to Orange Park to Dr Schmidt who was on call that weekend for definitive diagnostics.
Dr Schmidt phoned me while I was enroute to assist my safe arrival, and after his examination he exhaustively tried to recruit a local Retina specialist to repair my tear, which was very difficult to observe as there was much hemorrhaging.
After I had secured a surgeon back in my hometown of Charleston, South Carolina, we both felt encouraged.
Thank you, Dr Schmidt, for being that
rare physician that is extremely knowledgeable, who educates and advocates for his patients, and yet also so compassionate at the same time! Physicians like this are becoming very few and far between! He was most definitely God sent for me that day!

I got a piece of debris imbedded in my cornea two dad before while weed whacking wearing sunglasses instead of safety glasses. He found the problem & quickly fixed it.
