Look for another surgeon if you are looking for upper blepharoplasty (droopy eye lids) as this is not the guy. My husband went to him specifically for upper blepharoplasty and he was told by Dr Kostick that he didn't need upper blepharoplasty, but instead he needed a brow lift. My husband had the brow lift, which was a much more extensive recovery than anticipated as he was drugged up for several days after the surgery. Every time he went back for checkups from the surgery, he was charged an office visit fee, which is ridiculous. Put that aside, his eyelids never changed from the brow lift and Dr Kostick didn't take any responsibility for it. Instead, he suggested another surgery, an upper blepharoplasty, which is the exact surgery that he was told he didn't need. Very disappointing to say the least and really malpractice. The entire office structure there is like an assembly line with zero accountability. Dr Kostick should have taken responsibility for absolutely no improvement post surgery and offered to fix it. The integrity and professionalism is not there and I would definitely not recommend this doctor.
My mother saw this doctor for evaluation of ptosis. Dr. Kostick determined just by one look at her, that she has myasthenia gravis. He said to her sternly..."do you know what you have!?...you are going to stop swallowing, stop breathing and you are going to die! Needless to say my mother was shocked and devastated at that moment, leaving his office speechless and confused. She could not get over his remarks, essentially giving her a death sentence. Since then my mother has been inconsolably beset by negative ruminations about what Dr. Kostick told her. This doctor's name is quite appropriate...Dr. Kostick--only pronounce it "Caustic".
I saw Dr Kostick several years ago. I have never left a doctors office crying, until after my appointment with him. He was very thorough and made sure he explained everything, in complex medical terms. When I told him that I didn't understand he proceeded to use very condescending language, that was very insulting, to rephrase what he said. He assumed I was an idiot because I didn't understand how he was explaining my condition. He went over all the MANY pictures they took of my face ( which was very very odd) in such a patronizing manner that really hit my self esteem so hard that I just wanted to run out of there before even getting a clear explanation of my problem. He basically made me feel like my "condition" was due to being ugly rather than any medical ailment. I absolutely couldn't get out of there fast enough. It didn't help that I was there for SEVERAL, not a few, hours. Just understand that coming to see Dr Kostick can result in needing to take the whole day off and leaving feeling more depressed than ever felt before.
Dr. Kostick removed a large bump on my lower eyelid. He did an absolutely amazing job. He was so careful, thorough, detailed, patient, and caring. The end result truly looks wonderful, and I feel so much better when I blink. Every time I look in the mirror, I feel thankful that I chose Dr. Kostick. He is the best. I will forever recommend him to anyone who has a similar issue.
My experiences with the Doctors and staff at Florida Eye Specialist have all been positive. Service has always been on time, courteous, friendly, and effective. I most highly recommend them for any problem with your eyes! Chuck DR's Shetty and Lott are treating my glaucoma and MD are excellent.
Though seeing a doctor isn't my favorite thing to do. I absolutely love seeing Dr. Kostick. He was very patient and informative.
I'm 25 and felt my brows were getting a little heavy. Instead of doing major surgery Dr. Kostick recommended Botox to lift my brows just a little. It was exactly what I needed without making me have the "deer in headlights" look. I felt he took his time explaining to me every option. I would definitely recommend him.
Dr. Kostick performed "Ptosis" surgery on one droopy eyelid of mine in January 2015. This surgery seemed like it was botched. Eyelid was worse than before I went in. I made a decision to let him do a second surgery in October 2015 to correct issue as I could not even see out of that eye at the time. This surgery was called "Frontalis Suspension" (where nylon strings are inserted to raise eyelid). The eyelid is a little higher than it originally was (i can now see out of it) but the eyelid is still not even to my other normal eye, not even close. To top all of this off, I now have a loose nylon string that is floating around my lid. I noticed this "loose" nylon string 1 month after the 2nd surgery. This man will never do any work on my body ever again and I will not recommend him to my worst enemy. This has been an unbelievable year and experience. I feel so bamboozled, he has so many good ratings on the internet. I am convinced that he is not very experienced with correcting droopy eyelids at best. He seems like a credible doctor even in person but the evidence is in his work. After the 1st failed surgery he was not even a bit sympathetic. Shame on me, I made a poor decision to choose him in the 1st place and an even worse decision to have him correct the problem. I am now left with a droopy eyelid that is severely scarred (due to the incision) and no feeling due to the cutting (all numb) and a constant feeling that something is in my eye due to the loose nylon string!
I was only there to rule out a condition, glad it was and not going be part of my care! I wasn't very impressed, very surprised too, simply because I have 2 other specialists and staff in that group and have been super satisfied with them! Oh, well can't win them all! Still thankful for my care team at Florida eye
