Florida Eye Specialists - Northside

They didn't tell me prior to my appointment that they don't deal with insurances and I would have a bill to pay. I had no idea I thought my vision plan would cover the annual appointment and I wouldn't owe anything. I was very wrong and now I'm stuck paying payments on a bill due to the lack of information. Had I known when I made the appointment or even before the appointment I would have not gone. I even was required to submit my insurance card with new patient information, why did they need my insurance card if they don't deal with the insurance companies? Very disappointing, all could have been avoided with better communication.

I arrived on time for my 8:00 am appointment. I signed in. And was given a laptop to answer a few questions. I paid my co-pay. And was called by a technician to go back with her to start my exam. Everything went smoothly and to my satisfaction. I was there for...one hour and thirty minutes.

I showed up earlier than normal for paperwork and was seen somewhat quickly, within 20 min of completing paperwork. But that was just to dilate my eyes and blur my vision. I returned to the lobby and as I write this, I've been waiting for just shy of 2 hours. I think I'm at 1:48 right now. I did ask if I was coming up and was told at least another half hour and probably more. There us nobody left in the lobby... As for service, I can't say yet. They seem nice. At least some. The person who updated me on the time seems less polite. As for the services provided.. I have no idea. I would probably not recommend this place. If you do come here, it seems like it would be wise to schedule the first appt of the day or the last one to avoid excessive waits. I would not schedule anywhere near lunch. Sorry if there are typos. I can't really see right now but have nothing better to do then write this up. I was told I was early so some of my wait was due to that. If that's the case, I should not have been sent back to the technician early but they were able to accommodate that. So this wait is more annoying because I cant really see anything clearly enough to send emails or anything. Why didn't I go anywhere else?... well it's hard to see so I don't wanna drive more then I have to. Also they already started tech stuff putting drops in my eye so I don't wanna get billed from 2 places. And it's probably quicker to wait now than to find another appt somewhere else. In fact I've been waiting so long my vision is starting to return from whatever the tech did.

Dr Rachana A Patel is attentive, thorough, and efficient. My visit was a positive experience, and the entire facilities at N F S Florida Eye Specialist would make an excellent benchmark case study in Total Quality Management. There was good karma experienced in reception and throughout all the various examinations performed. Great care was taken in putting this team in place. I highly recommend Dr. Rachana Patel to anyone seeking first-class eye care.

I found this office in a pinch. They were able to accommodate me. The staff here at Florida eye Specialist are warm and friendly. The doctor really takes the time to explain everything. I would recommend them if you care about your eyes.
