Offices looking kind of tired. Wall needed at least another coat of paint. Peeling poster, my doctors name missing off the signage in the lobby. Supposed to be providing a prescription but asking me for details on my current glasses. Assistant didn't provide her name or wear a name tag, didn't seem comfortable with procedure, like determining a prescription wasn't something they normally do. I just don't get the impression this office is as good as a place like Pearl Vision. Was referred here by my GP due to history of diabetes and wanted vision checked as it was due and had been two years. Might be good for other reasons, I'm just not impressed with what I saw today. Flooring is tired and worn, walls have holes and black marks. Appointments are very slow and require multiple waiting sessions. After two hours I am finally in a room waiting to see a doctor. Despite taking 30 minutes at home filling out all the medical history and information their pre-check8n required they had none of that information and asked me the same questions again. The assistant said she didn't know why the data didn't propagate. Dr Pei-Wen Lawing did a great job and was very professional though her assistant didn't dialate my eyes like she should have.

The staff and doctors were very nice. When I had my cataract surgery Dr Gayasaddin answered all my questions, he put me at ease since I have never had surgery of any kind before. I am moving to Clermont FL I will miss the staff and doctors who took care of me.

I recently had an experience with Florida Eye Specialists that I felt I needed to share. I have upcoming cataract surgeries that require that I start a regimen of special eye drops. I'd previously purchased them at my pre-op office visit and took them home. When I went to locate them to start the process, I couldn't find them. I starting to stress out.
I reached out to Madeline whom I'd met at pre-op and explained the situation. She immediately jump into action. She reached out to one of their locations that was close to me and had them quickly fill the prescription. She stayed in touch with me the entire time. I later found my drops at home and notified her, so she contacted their office and cancelled my new order.
I'm sharing this because I never had to do a thing, she totally put me at ease and handled everything. You don't typically receive this type of customer service now days. She went above and beyond, so I just wanted her recognized for this and to tell her how much I appreciated her efforts. Job well done Madeline!!!

Aug. 5 2025 is a day I will be never forget. I went for a routine eye exam at Warbys. The optometrist advised me I had swelling behind my eye and said it was imperative I see a specialist immediately. She gave me a referral and sent me to Florida Eye specialist. I was seen by Dr. Gayasaddin within a couple of hours. I was examined and told there was nothing wrong. On Sept. 15th I go to the ER because I am going blind in my left eye. Spent 5 days in hospital. Eventually I am diagnosed with eschemic optic neuropathy and have permanently lost most of my sight in the eye. If only Florida Eye Institute had caught this early, I may have been able to save my eyesight. Just facts.

I am Not pleased about everything! Things changed at the billing department and admin. They did not communicate properly to the Va Administration in time for my surgery. So they want me to pay out of pocket for something that should have been properly discussed with me!
