Vision 20/20

Great Doctor, but this group is short on compassion. I visited the Doctor for 12 years with a perfect attendance record and received great service. All was well until my world went topsy turvy. In my last year with this group I missed 2 to 3 appointments while I was taken care of my parents who both suffered from cancer and dementia at the same time. I am their only guardian so the brunt of their care relied on me. These years proved to be the toughest 3 years of my life, but I did the right thing for them, but failed on many commitments to my own personal health. Missing an appointment was never intentional, but the demand from my parents, who were consistently ill, proved difficult to do much else and work full time. I tried to explain my position to this group and they have blocked me without discussing my situation with them. I have called to explain, but they cut me off and hang up when I tell them my name. Who does that? Nonetheless, the doctor is great and the staff is punctual, but do not miss an appointment regardless of your situation. 5 star rating for the practice and .5 Star for Compassion.

I just called bc my ins told me yesterday, that this is who I call for vision. A woman answered, when I explained, she said the doctor is not taking any new patients. I asked if she knew a good time to call back, whether it could be weeks or months, &she literally just hung up? I'm always an extremely nice person.. I wasn't trying to rush, I'm actually losing my vision and just trying to keep up w my lenses (every 8/10mos I'm replacing them) to drive safely &keep the constant headaches away. I called back, &someone picked up &hung up. I'd never expect this from a company w such high reviews, quite shocked at what just happened actually.. But maybe I shouldn't be surprised being the insurance is related to Medicaid. I will go back to being self pay at my normal office bc of how important this is to me. It's a shame though, I would love a job right now. And I definitely wouldn't treat people like that.

Will update after appointment. Correct Hours for this office are closed Wednesdays and half days Friday according to the receptionist.

First time getting eye exam. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Really liked Dr. Spurling.

Have been seeing them for years now great staff and Dr Spurling is the best.
