I want to start by saying that the doctor who treated me today at South Florida Laser Eye Center is one of the best eye doctors I have ever had. He took the time to explain how to properly care for my eyes in a way that no other doctor has done before. His patience and thoroughness truly stood out. He kindly mentioned that if I needed a cloth to clean my glasses, I could request one from the gentleman in charge of the eyewear area. However, my experience after that was very disappointing. When I approached the gentleman to ask for a glasses cleaning cloth, he responded rudely and told me to wait because he was busy with another client. Shortly after, one of the receptionists asked if she could assist me. I explained that the doctor had kindly told me I could ask for a cleaning cloth. She politely told me to wait a moment, saying he would be available shortly. At that point, the gentleman spoke to her in a rude and disrespectful manner, saying she needed to put in writing what I was requesting. I was surprised because it was something as simple as handing me a cleaning cloth. The receptionist calmly filled out a form and handed it to him. He took it dismissively and then threw the clipboard back onto the counter where she was standing. I felt embarrassed for the young woman, who handled the situation with professionalism and grace despite his inappropriate behavior. She remained composed and attempted to smooth over the situation. His conduct was unnecessary, unprofessional, and lacked basic courtesy. After he finally handed me the glasses cleaning cloth, I left with a knot in my throat. I was honestly shocked by the lack of respect and professionalism displayed. It was very uncomfortable to witness such behavior toward someone who was simply trying to help. While the doctor provided exceptional care, this negative interaction unfortunately overshadowed an otherwise excellent visit.

I just have to share that Dr Tavakkoli is the best. I saw a few other doctors for a dermatitis on my eye and in a few months none of them had helped. In one visit to Dr Tavakkoli he prescribed an ointment for me to use and it was the perfect treatment. No more eye issues. I highly recommend him.

If I could give ZERO stars to this awful place I WOULD. I am diabetic, went there to get a diabetic eye exam for glasses. They had me do this in two separate/distinct appointments. I paid $75 dollars or around that for each co-pay. I had my eyes dilated during the first app. During the second app they performed the testing necessary for glasses. The optometrist knew I was diabetic with fluctuations in my glucose levels. Performed two separated tests. Confirmed on 01/09/2026 that I could have glasses made. Charged me over $500 bucks for a pair of glasses. Thereafter, I received a call from the front desk staff telling me that I needed to come back a 3rd time (paying another co-payment) to do more testing, to have my eyes dilated again. I have never ever experienced something like this before. I spoke to the optometrist over the phone and he confirmed a SECOND TIME that he would proceed to submit my glasses order, that everything was fine. However, today 01/15/2026, Tristan N. (front office "manager") stated that I would not be getting my glasses despite the fact that I am diabetic because I strongly objected to coming back a 3rd time (on the grounds that the optometrist confirmed a 2nd time everything was fine and glasses would be ordered), and that I had received "medical care already" and the office would simply not allow me to get the glasses. Thus, I wasted the $75 copayments and my time. I am a busy professional who made arrangements each time that I had the two previous appointments to miss work and at home since I am the caregiver for my Mom who has a severe traumatic brain injury. These people completely and royally wasted my time, were extremely obnoxious to me and vengeful because they did not like to be confronted with these factual truths and issues I have experienced from day one at this place. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this terrible place in any way or form. Do not make the mistakes I made. These people have collected insurance money and my copayments and are refusing me medical care (the glasses that I desperately need). I will be filing a complaint against this horrible establishment and against every person involved. A terribly rude so-called front office manager should not be allowed to simply decide to deny medical care to a diabetic patient based on her own whims and emotions that she should be able to control out of respect for patients and the medical profession. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE, TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

This eye doctor is the best in South Florida my all family go this doctor for last 12 years. The facility is very nice high tech equipment .

One of the most unpleasant, unprofessional, dirty office. Every patient has to wait at least 2 to 3 hours. I felt rushed during my appointment and couldn't discuss all my concerns. The providers here don't listen and ask the same questions again and again. Mistakes made by the doctor or their staff.

This is the poorest run office I've ever seen. I brought my 96 year old mother in for her 1:30 appointment. At 3:15 she still had not been seen. There were no reasons given as to why and when we announced that we were leaving the receptionist shrugged and responded "bye". We will NEVER return.

My appointment was @3:15. I came 1 hour early they said I was too early and that I have to wait till my appointment Time I left and came back 30 min before so I can be on time to see the doc because I have to drive 2 hrs home. And now it's 3:52 and I am still waiting and it's pouring outside. No communication between the front and the back office . Unprofessional . Time is time went it's convenient for them. Finally got called at 3:53.
