Eye Surgery and Laser Center of Sebring

I had cataract surgery last week that was performed by Dr Fischer of The Advanced Eye Care Center, but it was the staff of the surgery center who prepped me for him. I'm ex-military, so I know a well trained cohesive team of people when I see it and the staff here is definitely that. Patients can be assured that they are in excellent hands and someone will even call you a few days after your surgery to check up on you. I especially want to commend the lady who inserted my IV. Prior to last week I had no idea that it could be done with such precision and skill that you'd hardly notice it going in. I thank everyone for being so awesome and will see you again for the surgery on my other eye.

I had multi-focal lenses implanted for cataracts this fall in 2025. This is a top-notch facility, and I felt they were very thorough, low pressure about what lens option the patient wants, and concerned for a great outcome. After the surgeries my eyes were great, but then I developed "secondary cataracts" that caused some hazy, blurred vision. I returned and had YAG laser capsulotomy procedures in both eyes, and now I'm delighted at how crisp and clear my vision is. Their prices are fair and the facility is immaculate. The only downside to this place is a long wait time, but if you accept that it's busy and popular for good reason, you will be glad you waited.

My cataract surgery was very successful thanks to the Eye Specialists team! They are very organized, efficient, courteous and extremely pleasant to work with at every point in the process, from initial exam to surgical follow up. We will be going to Eye Specialists of Mid Florida for all our future optical needs!

I drove today for the first time in over a year as I can now see beautifully after cataract surgery. I'm grateful to the Doctors, the staff, and the technicians, and feel blessed to have chosen Eye Specialists of Mid Florida for the procedure. Everyone was professional, kind and non judgmental. Doctor Damon Welch is awesome, explained everything in detail. Day of surgery went with out a hiccup. Everyone from the front desk, nurses, techs and doctors are amazing. If I could give 100 stars I would. Definitely the doctor to go for cataract surgery.

My elderly mother, with dementia, was forced to wait in excess of 2.5 hours for a procedure that took less than 5 minutes. No one bothered to tell us they were running behind when we got there. When we asked, we were told it was because they were running behind. This is unacceptable!

Excellent facility--I had cataract surgeries there in September/October 2025. All offices and exam rooms are very clean and facility is very systematic with channeling patients through visits. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Patients are escorted to every treatment area. They keep very detailed patient records using very sophisticated diagnostic equipment and technology. Both Dr. Daniel Welch and Dr. Damon Welch are top-notch surgeons. They spend time becoming familiar with visual needs and make clear recommendations on types of lenses needed. Insurance-saavy staff. Prompt scheduling of procedures based on individual needs. Comfortable amenities in all waiting areas. I will most definitely recommend this group.
