Sun Hill Optical - Valrico

They got a new dr by the name of Dr. Petro. He's great! Like him so much better than the last one I saw there. Gave me info that even my ophthalmologist didn't give me. Has a sense of humor and makes you feel at ease. Carol is the best. She's the one who kept me coming back to this office. She absolutely does her best to be helpful and truly helps with costs and decisions. All around a good and caring office.

I have been going to sunhill optical in Valrico for a couple years now and I stay there because of one person and pretty much one person only and that is, Carol, she is truly one of the kindest compassionate empathetic and most lovely persons that I've ever known, she goes out of her way to meet the needs of customers and especially the needs of me. Mine seem to be a lot. I will continue to go there and See sunhill optical for my optical needs.I will not be able to get in there anytime soon.Because I have injured myself and cannot drive.But I just want the company to know what an asset they have in her, and that's Carol.That's my girl.She's awesome and you guys should take very good care of her and make her very happy because she makes me very happy!!! In this world...I Appreciate the people who go out of there way for me..and she is the epitome of true kindness and caring...THANK YOU CAROL!!!

When I learned that Dr. Petro had joined SunHill Optical Valrico, my family and I chose to follow him, as we've trusted him with our eye care for so many years. Carol took care of us during our visit and made the entire process easy and stress-free. She was attentive, thorough, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was handled properly. I didn't have a backup pair of glasses, and the staff was kind enough to let me borrow a pair while my new lenses were being prepared. That level of consideration really stood out.

My husband and I were referred to sun hill optical Valrico by our good friend, Colleen Krug. We were greeted warmly and helped promptly. Everyone was friendly. The exams were thorough and gentle. The eye glass selection was great for us. Emily helped with our order, letting us try on as many pairs as we wanted, no rush. We picked up our glasses today and are so pleased with them!! Emily helped us again today, making sure we were completely satisfied before we left. A really Great Experience and we will be returning again. We have already recommended a friend to this place and he has also had a good experience. A wonderful competent place!!

We found out Dr. Petro moved over to SunHill Optical. My family and I all have been patients with him for years and decided to move with him to his new location. We were a little skeptical at first, but as soon as we walked in we were welcomed. Carol, who helped us, was very professional and helpful. She took her time helping us and was very patient, knowledgeable, and wonderful to work with. We will now be recommending SunHill optical to our greater family and friends.

I came to this location because my gym was right next door and carol helped me set up my first appointment and i was able to ge tin that week! The doctor was very helpful as well and fast. Everytime i have carol has been able to help me and make sure everything is good! I'm glad i found this spot! And gave me a flyer for the rest of my family to also come and get serviced here :)

I stopped into the Valrico location in person about two days ago because I'd seen some mixed reviews and wanted to get a feel for the office myself. I spoke with two women at the front desk and explained that I was simply looking to get my PD (pupillary distance) measurement, since another eye exam I had did not provide it (they were a medical facility so don't usually measure PD.) One of the front desk staff told me that it was illegal for them to give me my PD information if they gave me an eye exam, which immediately felt strange. What made the interaction feel uncomfortable was that when I mentioned I might be able to obtain my previous exam records, I was then told they'd be happy make those lenses for me as I'd be purchasing through them. That made it feel as though the information wasn't unavailable -- it was conditional -- which didn't sit right with me and felt unethical. This was not the office for me. After looking into it myself, I learned that PD is considered part of a patient's medical record, and withholding it upon request actually goes against a patient's HIPAA right to access their own health information. A customer can ask for their PD as part of their exam and it has to be given to them. I give it two stars because the woman with the bob was really sweet and you could tell she was good at making people feel welcome. I wish I didn't have to leave such a low rating but unfortunately it was a disservice to fabricate what my options were.

I wear specialty gas perm lenses and Carol F. at the Valrico office went above and beyond to expedite the order and delivery of my new pair. Got them less than a week which is unheard of since only one lab in Texas makes them.
