What a joke, exam went well.. but after picking out the frames, I was told a fee of 795.00 for 2 progressive eyeglasses, when inquired about the advertised eye exam and 2 pair of progressive for 295.00 and I specifically picked frames that were included in that range. I was told that was for single vision only. I POINTED at the sign behind me that clearly stated progressive glasses. I asked for a copy of the estimate and was told they are not allowed.. I work in Healthcare as admin, it's with the patient's rights to receive a copy of an estimate. I asked if I would be given a copy of my prescription and was granted, however, the prescription was incomplete. I tried to take the prescription to both vision works and an online company, neither would accept the prescription because it was incomplete and missing the measurement of the distance between pupils. I called them the next day and I was told that it is not part of the prescription? The prescription that I paid 95.00 for is basically invalid and not usable anywhere else. I asked if I came back to the location would they complete... was told not unless I purchase glasses from them... Seriously?? I FEEL RIPPED OFF, and definitely false advertisement... STEER CLEAR consumers!
My first go around with this place I had an awful eye doctor. It was some lady, she was very rushed. Didn't seem to listen to my concerns with astigmatism and driving at night. Eye exam with her was about 2 minutes total. She switched my brand of contacts and they were the worst. My eyes would be gunky after an hour of wearing them, they were uncomfortable, and I had a haze looking at any technology and screens. I booked a follow up appointment where they failed to tell me I had to wear my contacts and when I walked in the front office lady, Gale, was INCREDIBLY rude about me not having my contacts in. She made me feel really stupid. I'm young and I hadn't been to the eye dr in a couple years and I was just trying to figure all my stuff out. The new male dr that day was amazing, switched me back to my old contacts, updated my prescription to a higher one, and recommended eye drops because my eyes are severely dry. Also told me I should consider getting add ons to my glasses because light bothers me.. he said I have larger pupils and can't filter light as well as everyone else typically can. None of which the first doctor told me. I wasn't going to leave a review because people have bad days but a little longer than a week later I called back to see if my trial contacts and my glasses I ordered where there and Gale the receptionist was again incredibly rude AGAIN. Before she even took my info she said " first of all you're supposed to wait 14 days at least" just very argumentative. She went and checked if my stuff was there and came back on the phone and said they didn't have it (which is fine I was just checking) and stated again that I should've been told 14 days not a week and can call back on that day. No reason to scold me when your coworkers were the ones who told me that info. Just a poor attitude and rude in how she handles people. It was the way she was saying it. Also while I was checking out for my glasses purchase the lady who was ringing me up was complaining to my mother and I about how long the new doctor will be having her stay that day. His mom and dad and brother were SO proud to see their son working and were going to get exams after me and she was complaining to CUSTOMERS about him servicing family and that she wasn't going to get out on time today because she had to stay. Said he had been so slow all day and putting the schedule behind. But didn't once apologize for customers having to wait the same amount of
time she did. I feel like that's a normal thing to do, "sorry guys we're a little behind schedule" not complain about your co workers to customers who have also been waiting. Also that doctor was having to fix mistakes of the rushed doctor which is why it was taking a while longer. He shouldn't have even had half the appointments he did, he was fixing the other ladies mistake! Super disappointed in the customer service at this place. The new male dr (forgot his name) is amazing tho!!
this location has gotten my prescription wrong twice now.. both times i felt rushed and dismissed. i had to let the doctor performing the exam that there was makeup from the previous patient on the machine and she rolled her eyes at me. during my recheck appointment, it was obvious that she felt like rechecking my RX felt like a chore to her. i got a second opinion at a neighboring company, and needless to say, my RX was far different than what america's best had originally provided. very frustrating to say the least.
My family and I have been coming to this location for the past 4-5 years and have had nothing but great service and care from the optometrist, opticians and staff. Our prescriptions have been spot on and we have had no problems with the fitting of contacts and glasses. I highly recommend Dr. Arzuaga and her team!
Initially, I came in for an appointment the previous week. The "call in" eye doctor was nowhere to be found and the waiting room began to fill with about 8 patients. I waited patiently for about an hour and a half. Within that time only one patient was called to the exam room. The staff stated the Doctors were being slow to call in so I went to the front desk and rescheduled after a 90 minute wait. 4 days later now and I came into my appt. For 9:20 AM. The place had no patients and I was the first one. It is 10:00AM and the waiting room is filling again. Just now I see the optometrist enter the facility... Why give a 9:20 appt. without a dr. In the building? Now I have been waiting for a combined 2.5 hours to get my prescription/see the optometrist and was on time to each appointment... In my view, this is unacceptable business practice. The actual eye exam took 5 minutes and I waited, not including travel time, 2.5 hours with two trips. Sadly, I would not recommend this business.
Note: The front office staff were kind and helpful and deserves 5 star... this 1 star review goes for the business practice itself as a whole.

While my initial visit and contact lens fitting were satisfactory, the handling of an urgent eye issue was severely lacking and unacceptable.
On Saturday, October 25, 2025, around 1:00 PM, I immediately went to the Cumming, GA location seeking assistance after my left contact lens broke, leaving a piece lodged in my eye. I was informed that no doctor was available to remove the foreign object and was directed to seek treatment at an urgent care or another branch.
Upon calling the suggested Dawsonville and Gainesville locations, I was informed that their doctors were fully booked and could not accommodate an emergency. The Gainesville location also failed to return a promised follow-up call.
I was ultimately forced to seek treatment at an out-of-network Urgent Care facility, incurring a $215 fee to have the contact lens piece flushed out. Adding to the frustration, the Cumming staff required me to return with a doctor's note confirming the contact was removed.
I am deeply disappointed that an eye care provider would turn away a patient with an immediate foreign object emergency, despite telling me during the fitting to return if I had any problems. The complete lack of emergency support resulted in significant distress and avoidable out-of-pocket costs.
This was my second and last visit here. My first time in 2021 was decent, but this time (about 6 weeks ago) the front office seemed flustered and disorganized. The main issue was with the optometrist, who I don't think was the regular doctor. She had several patients booked at the end of the day and rushed through my exam. It was the quickest I've ever had. She dismissed my history of astigmatism in my left eye, gave me the same prescription even though my vision had worsened, and didn't ask if I had any other concerns. Now I'm dealing with headaches, blurry vision, and other issues from these contacts. She barely said a few words to me the entire time and it felt like she just wanted me in and out. Now I have to go to a different optometrist and pay out of pocket because my insurance only covers the one exam visit per year.
I've been an America's Best customer for most of my life and this is absolutely the worst location I've ever been to. While the optometrist was very professional, the staff up front is completely inept and unprofessional. They prioritize smoke breaks and socializing over doing their jobs. They don't believe in a customer first approach and honestly, the place needs to be completely overhauled by corporate. No thanks to this staff, I was able to get the help I needed at another location. This place could use a corporate overhaul.
