This doctor is an absolute gem. I've had to see 14 doctors over the past few years for various conditions from a degenerative eye condition to tumors, respiratory issues..... and lipo :-p...... Quite a few of these doctors' visits weren't the best (Some docs have a God Complex, get irritated if you "ask too many questions", and are averse to incorporating alternative/ holistic methods of treatment).... Of the 14 physicians, Dr. Tom is the most memorable, in a good way. He referred me to someone who specializes in my eye condition and was beyond helpful with a superb bedside manner to boot. He followed up even when he didn't have to, which in my opinion, shows he is one of the few ppl who haven't lost touch with their calling and still sees patients as people, and not just another number. Both of his receptionists are helpful, polite, and professional as well, especially the shorter lady. Most disinterested professional I've ever experienced in 60 years of wearing glasses. I never saw or heard from him after the initial exam despite needing to return to his office 3 times to get the proper fit of the progression in the lens for distance to mid to reading including side to side. I had told him I had budgeted for the best lenses possible please give me the best (I'm self pay); turns out on my 3rd visit for a fitting I discovered that I had not been given the best progression format and had to pay another $200 to upgrade. Then to top it off once the progression issue was resolved and I could finally see properly the lenses smudged constantly and scratched within 2 months to the point of having circles like a bird's nest on both lenses after 4 months. I called his office and left a message asking for the doctor to return my call to discuss the situation. Nope. His staff called. I explained the uselessness of the glasses with so many scratches and asked for a refund. The staff person asked what did you have in mind? I said whatever is in your heart. She offered $15. I accepted. The staff did their best I have no complaint with them. But they obviously have no support from the owner of this practice. I went to Lens Crafters and was fitted properly right off the bat. No smudging. No scratches. I wore the Lens Crafter lenses for a year before writing this review to make sure the Lens Crafter lenses withstood daily use by me. They have. I cannot recommend Tom Brilliante, OD.
