Dr. Mark G. Haywood, MD

Dr Haywood and his office are fantastic. Had a scare this morning when I got up and without appointment went to their office. They took me in and Dr Haywood saw me really quick. Thank goodness it was nothing serious but the fact they saw me was fantastic. He even met after hours one time. I have been seeing him for 20 plus years and would never think about ever changing Dr. I give all of them A++ rating.

Dr Mark Haywood is so thorough and friendly. I had cataract surgery in December and he opened his office for me on New Year's Eve just to make sure I was fine the day after. Patricia Haywood is also a very kind and patient doctor.

It took me almost 50 years to find an Eye Doctor that wasn't in a hurry to get me in and out until I met this Doctor. I've been seeing him now for over 10 years. Never a problem. Always considerate and patient. He has my absolute trust.

I've been a very satisfied patient for over 15 years. Dr. Haywood and his team have and continues to be a caring compassionate group. The utmost professionals to me . Trust me ......I've seen quite a few horror shows! Dr. Haywood's front staff, the first impression to the public is top notch !Minimal turnover over the years, which is a testament to Dr. Haywood's demeanor. Even as new staff transitioned , it just seemed quite seamless. A friendly professional group! At this point I feel like Norm from the sitcom Cheers when I visit 3-4 times a year, not including optical shop stops. What will you discover when you visit this practice? A beautiful office with calming beautiful music that always have me either singing along or conjuring up fantastic memories. Warm greetings from the from staff that preps you for the friendly proficient back staff like Misty, one of the long time stalwarts of this group . Dr. Haywood and his wife who is the optometrist provides great bedside manner and professionalism bar none. Carman who is the new Optical specialist does a great job . She had big shoes to fill when Lori retired and she has stepped in admirably. She knows her stuff, communicates well and follows up when needed in a timely fashion . I'm really glad I stumbled upon Dr. Haywood's office since moving from Boston in 2004 . I had a great Ophthalmologist up there so it was awesome to find him . This was after seeing two ophthalmologists prior to Dr. Haywood .

I have been coming here since 2017. Love the Dr's! Loved getting my glasses here until two years ago when Lori retired. And Carmen took her place. Carmen is knowledable but is very rude and unprofessional, she would raise her voice and yell if I came in for an adjustment. She did not want me coming in even once a month. Or even every few months. I even waited 8 months . That was too much. Her other patients only needed one adjustment a year.Thats not me. I need frequent adjuatments. She would compare me to other patients who would come in once a year. I am not everyone else. My eyes are very sensitive. I was told last week to get my glasses elsewhere. I came in because nose pads were off. I bought hingeless glasses 6 months ago. And it took a bit to get used to them.Carmen was upset because in the beginning I came in once a week. I was getting used to them. She said last week she has wasted 20 hours adjusting them over 2 years. 10 hours a year which breaks down to 1.6 minutes a day less then 30 minutes a month. Less then 30 minutes in a month is nothing. I was told she only had patience for other patients not for me. She told me I needed to learn how to adjust them myself. I looked at her and said I am not an Optician. She has put me down every time I come and an made me feel guilty. Part of her job is adjusting glasses.she said she had other things to do more important reports etc. Part of her job is customer service. It is very unprofessional to make a customer feel guilty for needing an adjustment or needing new nose pads. She also said last week she does not have to service me. I called secretary of state (board of Optometry) I was told that she can not refuse me service. Secretary of state said reach out to your Dr. I left several messages for Patrcia Haywood she has not returned my calls. I am very disappointed and sad after 8 years I need to find a new Dr. I have never been rude and always say thank you. And somewhere else to buy my glasses. All because I do not fit Carmen's agenda for coming in once a year for an adjustment. She is the one that talked me into hingeless glasses and get s mad when they need to be adjusted and expects me to adjust them myself.

I called this Dr.office today for a new appointment, and a receptionist answered the phone in a very unprofessional way and then asked me five questions about my insurance, She then asked me the reason for the visit, when I explained to her that I had a stye under my eyelid, she asked me if I was also visiting for any other health issues? She placed me o hold for a while then someone else picked up the phone and asked me what I needed????? I explained that I was speaking to someone who had already taken all my information and placed me on hold. She said that I was speaking to Melody and then she asked me to give her my insurance information and the reason for the visit. I asked her for her name (Since none of them cares to be phone professionals) and she said, Jessica. So I explained to Jessica that I have a stye under my eyelid, and she said we can not see you, and disconnected the call on me. I just hope that doctor Haywood knows how his staff is screening new patients, and if so, based on what?

The office staff as well as Dr. Haywood is very friendly and professional. I felt very comfortable as a patient in the office. I am scheduled for cataract surgery and I am very confident with the care I will receive.

Have been going here for 19 years, great doctor and staff - pleasant and professional.
