Today was a bitter sweet appointment. My son just turned 20 this month and since he was 3 months old we have been with Dr. Bordenca.. With a non-verbal child now an adult we have never had issues with him wearing his glasses. He has always been spot on in examining him and changing his Rx.' each time his vision
changed through the years. I can't say enough good about him. Thank you for 20 years of treatment and services for our son!! You have been the BEST!! Highly recommended!!!

Extremely streamlined process. Very fast to get in and out from appt. I appreciate the care and patience shown to my autistic child by the staff for dilating her eyes. Dr. Bordenca has been seeing our child since she was 6 months old. He's very skilled and it shows. He and his setup are excellent for needs difficult children like my daughter. My daughter now age 17 years.

Well he came highly recommended but did not have time to speak with us about our childs vision only that it would get worse..never introduced himself, explain the exam etc..no bed side manner, never would look at us.. just feel like the exam is rushed and your 1 of many....just moving cargo one in one out..its time for another exam, but actively searching for a Dr who really cares about ALL Children..

I was so reluctant that my 6 year old autistic non verbal son would not be able to be diagnosed. The dr came in with his toys and gadgets and was able to distract Desmond enough to complete the ENTIRE eye exam including dilating his eyes . This place is EXCELLENT dealing with Special Needs Children!!

The doctor did not introduce himself, acknowledge me as my child's mother, or explain the steps of the exam. He simply walked into the room, performed the exam without any communication, stated "yes, you need glasses, this is your prescription," and walked out. This left me feeling excluded from my child's care and unsure about the process.
As a parent, I believe it is important to be informed, acknowledged, and involved in decisions regarding my child's health. I respectfully request that this matter be addressed, and that efforts be made to ensure clearer communication and professional courtesy during appointments.
