In a word, Outstanding! Top tier Doctor that is about as professional, thorough, and caring as they come. Every aspect of my exam was explained to me. Each health item that was found with my eyes came with a detailed, informative explanation; and I might add that this conversation was conducted with patience and understanding. Office staff during my visit were friendly and efficient. From scheduling the appointment on the telephone, processing insurance, to checking out. Wonderful warm experience from start to finish.

Our recent visit with Dr Wood was great, it was unfortunate we didn't order glasses this time; due to the rudeness of the front office staff, which has been a problem in the past. A little background of this decision; My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Wood for approximately four years and have always been extremely satisfied with his care and professionalism. His Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant is also exceptional. Unfortunately, our experiences with the front office staff and the Frame Stylist Consultant have been consistently disappointing. During a recent call to replace my husband's lost glasses, the consultant was noticeably dismissive and unprofessional. When I relayed information previously provided to us about our insurance coverage and what she told him during that visit, she responded with, "I doubt you were told that," which felt both rude and accusatory. However, this was not the first encounter of her rudeness. Dr. Wood has always explained that our insurance is really good coverage. We are both covered on three pairs of glasses each per year(totaling 6 pair) yet the attitude and treatment from the front office have repeatedly made the ordering process unpleasant. After several negative encounters, this most recent experience was the breaking point, back early last summer. Although we think highly of Dr. Wood, we are very unhappy with the unkindness shown by the office staff and will likely seek care elsewhere. The level of service we've received is unacceptable, especially given our long-standing relationship and the amount we spend at the practice on glasses. Dr James Wood is amazing, it's just unfortunate. Hopefully, things change and we can continue our visits there, but it's unlikely.

This was the best eye exam experience for me. Dr. Woods had the very best friendly, caring attitude I've ever had with a doctor of any kind. He was gentle and explained everything to me. I had a very nice assistant the whole time that explained every test and why we were doing it. As far as the front office, they were not welcoming. They didn't acknowledge me when I came in. I said hello to them first a little bit after I came in. I didn't feel comfortable at first. The whole atmosphere changed after I met the assistant and that very kind Dr. Woods. I will definitely go back to him. Highly recommend.

Great experience! I had previously visited a very well-regarded eye center in Snellville, but they rushed me out even though I still had issues. Dr Wood and team were super friendly and helpful. They found my issues quickly, explained a correction, and gave me confidence for a solution. I highly recommend them. It is worth the drive to see them.

I've been a patient of Dr. Wood's for many years and across several of his locations. I first saw him when I lived in Lilburn, and after I got married and moved to Lawrenceville, my husband and I continued our care at the Lawrenceville office. When we moved back to Georgia after living in New York for a few years, we were thrilled to discover that Dr. Wood has an office right here in Monroe. It feels like such a gift to have a doctor we trust so close to home. Throughout all the years we've been his patients, Dr. Wood has consistently used modern technology and thorough diagnostic tools to evaluate our eye health. We always walk out of our annual exams confident that we've received the best care and that our glasses and contact lens prescriptions are exactly right. Dr. Wood is friendly, smart, and incredibly thorough. We're grateful to have him as our eye doctor and highly recommend Wood Vision Center to anyone looking for exceptional eye care.
