Northwest Eye Center - Elgin

The front desk staff is extremely rude and dismissive. I came in for an initial appointment for an issue that required medication. The woman that checked me in and made my follow up appointment acted like it was a hassle to assist with these tasks. There was also some confusion about the paperwork that I filled out. In working to correct the problem, her response was it wasn't her fault, so it wasn't her problem. She was also extremely rude in both interactions. It's not my fault and I don't care seems to be their motto. I returned for my follow up appointment, but was told I did not have an appointment and the doctor was not in the office. The person at the desk said my appointment was the next day at a different time and she did not know why it was different, but I should have gotten a text about the appointment and it wasn't her fault that I didn't get one. In trying to figure out what was happening, she just kept telling me it wasn't her fault. She made it clear she was not interested in assisting. Another employee came out and said my appointment had been changed. First, she said that the original doctor had changed his schedule, so the appointment was moved. Then she said it was with a different doctor because they had some changes in which doctors take certain insurances and so they switched me to another doctor. While they can share notes, this is concerning from a continuity of care standpoint. I was told I should have been notified about the change and they would look into why I wasn't. I have been told by other people that the doctors are good but the front desk staff, billing, and practice management are terrible. I thought it would be worth it for a good doctor, but it is not. I was planning on coming back for my eye exam next year, but it is not worth it.

When the clinic was under opthamalogy associates it was wonderful; when they changed to Northwest Eye care I received terrible service - the front staff is horrible, they don't pick up their phone and when you leave a message you will never get a response back . Dr Ackerman is a wonderful Dr but she is leaving therefore I will not come back as well since I am unable to make an appointment! The office is completely unreachable and does not return your phone calls! I am just surprised that this is allowed and no one, the managers and supervisors are doing anything about it !

I have gone to Dr. Ackerman for 30+ years, her and her practice were amazing. They always assisted in questions, answered calls, returned voicemails we left. Now with Northwest eye center taking over my mom tried calling 4 times today and left voicemails for an emergency appointment for my dad. No response or calls back. You can't get through to anyone. Before they took over an emergency was taken seriously and responded to. I even called to order contacts and got through to no one and left a message requesting a call back to assist my mom. It seems after 30+ years we will not return unless they change our minds and call back today assisting my family who was in the ER for an eye issue that needs to see an ophthalmologist.

Went to an immediate care and they told me I had a stye. Went to Dr. Seigle and within 30 seconds pulls a shard of something from my upper eye lid and has me immediately fixed. Any eye issues at all I highly recommend

They don't return your calls. I don't understand why a business doesn't want any business! Will be looking elsewhere. The previous company was much better.

After trying to find an eye doctor all day, Opthalmology associates were able to take me for an appointment the same day within an hour of closing time and right before the holidays. The front desk staff were very kind and helpful and we couldn't have asked for a better doctor. Dr. Jamey ware did an amazing job, very knowledgeable and reassuring throughout the whole process. We were in and out within 45 minutes. I highly recommend this office to anyone looking for excellent eye care.

BE CAREFUL with this place!!!! . I went to them a few days ago, so they could remove a small thing like dust that was in my eye that it wasn't a big deal. They first did an exam that for me was a routine, then the doctor put a couple of drops into my eye and with tweezers removed it (it didn't take even a minute to remove it). When I left, I asked if I had to pay anything and they said no. At that moment I thought it was fair because in reality they hadn't done anything extraordinary to me. I But after a month, I received a bill for 400 dollars! To my surprise, they charged me for the routine exam and the entire procedure as if it were special and that's why my insurance couldn't cover it. I talked to them about it, but I didn't get anywhere to them. They were rude and arrogant! They really don't care about us, they are only interested in collecting as much as they can from us. So, be careful!! So, tell them not to do anything to you that your insurance doesn't cover so that you don't get a surprise like the one I got.

the office has been hijacked by a computer. I was supposed to fill out form which required everything except picture of my dog. then after office visit i was invited to set up portal using the code they send. SURPRISE they did not send a code.
