I brought my daughter here because this is where she has gone before and I wanted to support local businesses but it wasn't a good experience.
Dr. Patel's team insisted that my vision insurance card was for medical insurance. I tried to explain to them that it is my vision insurance card (it says vision insurance on the card) but they were very dismissive. They printed a form showing that I was enrolled in the insurance matching my card. I thought we had cleared it up, but then Dr Patel brought me into another room and brought it up again. I couldn't understand why they were being so argumentative and when I asked Dr Patel to articulate her concern she didn't have a take away.
The rest of the appointment didn't go well. I was unhappy with how things were handled and Dr. Patel just acted like everything was fine. I found it unauthentic and it felt condescending.
It wasn't worth the stress. I'll take my daughter to For Eyes next time. That's where I go and I've always had a good experience.

Dr. Patel is, for lack of better words... VERY thorough and amazing at her job. I haven't gotten this level of care for my eyes... ever. I have medically necessary contacts and glasses and I had no clue until the day of my appt that I no longer needed to pay OOP. Thank you so much Dr., it's evident you are really diligent about making sure we see better ^-^. Adjusting my prescription has legitimately improved my quality of life overnight. And shout out to front desk staff that was kind, patient and accommodating with me. Thank you!

Dr. Patel,
I had an appointment today to see you and I wanted to tell you that the front desk told me that my insurance would not cover the exam so that I'm responsible to pay 80% of the exam or need to purchase a pair of glasses to receive $50 exam price. I told them that should be a mistake, but they denied and I had to leave your office.
I had to call my company and asked if the plan changed, and they said I should have a free exam per year. I called your office back and they said now they can see that my exam is covered. She said there is no appointment left for today and the coverage ends tomorrow. I asked for an apology for not looking things throughly enough, then the lady said I'm being rude for asking for an apology and she hung up the phone. I'm disappointed for this experience and i struggled looking information in my car finding out that I just wasted about two hours and nothing got done.

Dr. Patel is terrific. I didn't give five stars because the staff needs all sorts of training from properly performing glaucoma tests to dealing with patients already under the care of an MD for eye health to explaining which tests are typical for a new glasses prescription to alerting which will result in charges beyond a usual copay. I'm glad I knew enough about my own eye health and which machine did what to decline the tests my MD does regularly and not have to submit to those again in order to get an eyeglass prescription. If you go here to see the excellent doctor ask the staff lots of questions before allowing them to perform tests. And, if you are under the care of an MD, you may have to insist that the staff alert the doctor of this before agreeing to any tests which may be redundant and unnecessary for you.

This office has been strangely canceling my appointments before my initial visit without any explanation. They recently reached out to me about issues with my insurance policy, and I was able to follow up with legitimate efforts to fix these issues on my end with one of their associates. However, they keep canceling my appointments as if they don't want to deal with me.
Very strange and something I've never experienced in my life. Almost feels discriminatory.
