My family has been going here over 30 years. Really great doctor experience. They've always been awesome in that regard. More than inadequate front office though, and I caught them flat out lying to me about the status of my last contact lens order. The worst ordering experience every time, guaranteed. You need to follow up on every order to ensure that it was placed. Delays every time. Get your prescription and order elsewhere if you decide to visit. I won't anymore. I can forgive them for messing this up once or twice, given how good the doctor experience is, but I'm not going to subject me or the rest of my family to dishonesty in order to get that care. They've lost our business for good.

Disappointing Experience at Illinois Eye Care Center I recently had an eye check-up appointment at the Illinois Eye Care Center and was extremely disappointed with their lack of understanding and patience. Despite arriving just 5 minutes late due to first snowfall of the season--which caused significant traffic jams--they refused to honor my scheduled appointment time. Instead of accommodating the situation, they told me I'd have to wait an additional 2 hours for the next available slot. This lack of flexibility and disregard for the challenges posed by weather and traffic is unacceptable. Their approach is far from patient-friendly, and I would strongly recommend avoiding this location if you value your time and a considerate attitude toward patients

Book your next eye exam here! I had an amazing experience in this clinic (Hoffman Estates location). Dr. Thakkar is an absolute gem! She is kind, informative and personable. The ladies running the front desk are organized and sweet, special thanks to Roseanne, she made the visit quick and painless and fun. My insurance was verified before I arrived, I was given a thorough explanation of what my co-pays are and ordered my contacts on the spot to be delivered to my house. Love that! Before leaving, I booked my next visit for myself and my entire family. It goes without saying, I highly recommend this practice!

I love the doctors at this location! They are very professional and they take good care of their patients. I feel though, as a business, they seem more interested in money than actually helping people. My last appointment alone cost me close to $1,000 before insurance but when I ask for my prescription, they will only give me my partial prescription and hide the rest behind another paywall. The full prescription is already in my chart, already measured, and already accessible to everyone in the business. But I cannot have my OWN prescription unless I give them more money. I asked them why this is and I was told it's because another place could make my glasses wrong. I don't see how paying Illinois Eye Care Center more money would fix that possibility? It makes no sense, so I'm guessing that they don't have a real reason why they charge the extra money beyond forcing your hand to buy glasses through them instead of going elsewhere. The main motivation of this practice appears to be making money, instead of helping people, which should be unacceptable in the health care industry. I will continue going to this location for my yearly eye exam, and I hope that one day they realize that charging their patients for access to their own medical records is ridiculous.

Absolutely the BEST customer service and I didn't even go to this location. I called because I had a question in regards to my mothers significant eye issue. I am not sure who I spoke to but she wrote down word for word the issues my mom was having and made sure to speak to the doctor about the concerns. When it had been a few hours, she called to inform me that she has not spoken to the doctor but she didn't want me to think she's forgotten about me. I find that to be so professional and shows that they truly care about their potential customers. She called me back shortly after to confirm that they would be able to help my mom and squeezed us in that evening. The doctor was great and was very knowledgeable with my moms situation. I highly recommend and would even go myself just for an eye exam. I would give this a thousand stars if I could!!!

They lost 3 patients today, and I will be sure to share that although Dr Assell is a good Dr, unfortunately his front desk and Dr Baxter are condescending, very rude and although my family and I have been patients for quite a few years, he allows his staff (including Dr Baxter) to be belligerent and falsely accuse others of their own behavior, especially when asking about pricing. Whatever you do, don't ask about pricing, because they will snap on you and then tell the Dr your aggressive and ask you to leave. Sad day today.

I found myself in a emergency situation this weekend and after reading the reviews I made a call to the Illinois Eye Center. The ladies were very nice and accommodating. I'm sure they heard the distress and panic in my voice. Their calming voice helped alleviate some of my stress. Dr. Assell was there ready and able to diagnose my eye issues with a caring expert voice, as he explained in details what was happening, along with a plan to resolve the issue. I highly recommend the Illinois Eye Care Center
