My wife and I are Dr. Hinton's patients in his Lawrence office. We really like the kind and professional office staff and we have the utmost confidence and respect for Dr. Hinton's skills. He performed my 2 cataract surgeries and I had no issues. My vision is amazing. I now wish I had not waited to have the surgery. Dr. Hinton is respectful and listens to our concerns and patiently answers all our questions. He does thorough diabetic exams for my wife. We would highly recommend Dr. Hinton. He is an excellent Ophthalmologist and eye surgeon.

I had my cataract surgery done by Dr. Hinton, he and his nursing staff in Topeka, KS made this experience actually fun! The nursing staff were professional, caring, extremely pleasant and both Dr. Hinton and his staff explained everything step by step. The surgical room was clean and the energy was fantastic! The first thing you do is a consultation with the Dr. I went to his office in Lawrence and the staff there were so nice, you feel welcomed immediately. Always a pleasant experience, I feel cared for by my doctor and all of the staff. My diagnosis of glaucoma was unexpected and scary, but with their expert care I am doing just fine. Every step was explained clearly and all calls I made were returned promptly.

The place was clean. The receptionist was very helpful and pleasant. Dr. Hinton explained everything very well. It was good to be able to go for a consult and get Laser surgery all in the same visit.

We love this office. Front desk Sam is a really nice guy. All the Drs. have been wonderful with our crazy pup.

Follow up: I got a follow up call from Shawn the administrator after this review. I was very happy with how he professionally handled my case and he made me feel like they genuinely cared about my concerns. I am happy with the discussion we had about their policy and accept their apology. For this reason I am revising my rating. Thank you Shawn for reaching out. Would not recommend. Went for consultation and they said they would call back to schedule surgery for my eye. . Never heard back and I had to keep following up. They seemed very concerned that I didn't have traditional insurance despite the assurance that we had a way to pay for it. Four weeks later, with my eye getting worse, they said they would only do the surgery after full payment up front which was thousands of dollars and they would not take a payment plan. I recommend they have full discussion on payment with patients before the patient pays money for consultation that leads to no follow up.
