Dr. Michael Varenhorst

I have been going to Dr Micheal Varenhoust since I was 7 years old and he has been great and wonderful. He is coming up with new ways to improve RP and he is also trying to find ways to make it easier for people who have RP have a better chance of seeing. Like the testing they started and he is very good at explaining how it would work. He is so respectful and understanding

Wonderful experience with Dr. Varenhorst for my baby. He checked him for ROP and we were so thankful he did so we wouldn't have to drive 2.5 hours to KC for an eye exam. He was kind and gentle and my son did great. The wait is long but I felt it was worth it for the good treatment. Great office staff too.

Dr. V. treated me several years ago for a condition which caused my right eye to have large blind areas. Under his care, with injections, I've regained a large amount of vision. He, and his staff, were so positive and supportive through a very scary time for me. I felt so well taken care of. I have highly recommended him to friends. They also highly praise him and the staff. I truly can't say enough good things to do Dr. V., and staff, justice. His staff went out of their way to praise him also. My local optometrist, Dr. Gary Beaver, referred me. He, too, is an awesome doctor. By identifying the problem quickly, and immediately getting me the correct treatment, these two saved my vision, and reversed quite a bit of the damage.

Dr. Varenhorst has been wonderful. I have a ruptured retinal vein that caused partial vision loss. He has been treating me for about 8 months and approximately 90% of my vision has returned. I'm really liked that he explained the problem that has occurred in my eye and he offers solutions to resolve the defect. The only part of my visit that I do not like is the front desk. The staff totally ignored me when I first walked in. I was the only patient there and yet no acknowledgment. I would not go back if Dr. Varenhorst was not there. This is the only medical office that has unfriendly and rude front desk staff.

It is so frustrating that they move elderly people from a waiting room, to a room, to waiting room, to another room, to the waiting room and then if you are lucky they finally move you to a room where the actual Dr will see you. They give absolutely no concern to how hard all this can be on their elderly patients. Their system needs to be different. I am hoping we don't ever have to come back
