Eye Connect Vision Therapy

Vision therapy truly changed my life. When I began, I struggled with my vision enough that I didn't feel safe driving out of town and I had headaches most days. My regular eye doctor couldn't help me but then I found Eye Connect. I had anxiety about the therapy at first but Dr. Nola and Hailey, my therapist, worked hard to make sure my activities were helping me progress towards the goal but made sure I was not overwhelmed. The staff is so friendly and really encourages you and makes you feel comfortable, which was so helpful. Now my vision is back to where it should be, I'm driving and editing photos once again. My son (4.5/5) had an issue with his eyes getting lazy every once in awhile, uncontrollably & especially when he was tired. Our concern was one day the eye would give up trying to hard, let it go lazy & focus on the eye that had the best control. He had 20/20 vision but trouble holding both eyes at distances greater than 10 ft. We started eye vision training therapy & it was the best decision for our family. Don't get me wrong it took WORK, but work that was well worth it & the reward is amazing. After 3 months in i stopped seeing him loose control of it, he wore his glasses that helped him see during training bc he knew they helped him. He gradually weaned out of wearing them by the end of our course... i was kind of sad he looked so cute in them ! lol!! It's been a full year from our training & i still don't see any of the lazy eye coming back!! Will continue to monitor but should be good now. I have a friend whose son grew up with the same issue (he is 5 years older than mine) she didn't have the funds or means to put him through the training program & his eye did go lazy & will be like that the rest of his life. I wanted to be sure I was doing everything I could to help his future being set up for success. Meg & the team were an absolute delight to work with & I witness true honest compassion & medical care & kindness beyond my expectations. We miss you Meg!!

Dr. Nola and Megan worked with our family. They identified an issue that was not detected in normal childhood eye exams that was substantially impacting our 8 yr olds reading. With weekly therapy and home exercises his eye is now strong and his reading and behavior in the classroom has seen overwhelming improvement!

Ok the short. What do they do. After being seen by an optometrist and diagnosed, you go weekly for vision exercises to train your eyes to correct vision issues for about an hour. In my child's case, double vision. Like physical therapy, the patient is assessed multiple times by the dr to track growth and improvement. They assign homework (20ish minutes 3-4 times a week) and provide a backpack and training on how the homework works and what the goal is. Our experience-my daughter has been in vision therapy for about 7 months and will graduate in 2 weeks!And the difference has been amazing. Let's go back, 3.5 years ago, she had a concussion. After being medically released about 8 months later, she had debilitating headaches and couldn't focus. 2 years after that and tons of trips to tons of Dr's. we saw Dr. Nola at the Eye Gallery. Lots of big fancy words later, my teen has double vision and a lot of other things. She apparently always had some double vision, but after the concussion and lots of AP (heavy reading) classes, it had gotten significantly worse. It used to be a diagnosis like this sent patients out out of Wichita for a specialist, BUT not anymore! Eye Connect is corrective vision therapy! We are almost done, and the head aches are gone. She can focus in class, and her vision is restored! This therapy was not covered by insurance, but was worth every penny! I had no idea how common double vision is, but most people struggle through with it wearing prism glasses, but you don't have to! My kiddo mostly sees Gentry but anyone you see will be wonderful, and the quality of life improvement that these therapies have given is immeasurable. Can you imagine trying to read a text book and not being able to track the lines because it may look like the below? They didn't give me this image but it is what I showed my family to have a visual of what we started with. Update. I have a graduate! She is reading and seeing practically perfectly!

My son did Eye Therapy and we had a great experience. Dr. Nola and her assistants were always kind and helpful. It was hard work and was quite a time commitment but we saw improvement in all areas of the eye exams. In addition his reading scores on state assessments went from below average to on target with his age.

My daughter began complaining of headaches and being very fatigued by her last class period last school year which was causing focus issues. It was discovered she was is need of eye therapy to correct intermittent alternating exotropia. We can't say enough great things about Dr Nola and her vision therapist, Gentry. They explained everything so well to us and encouraged my daughter every step of the way. After 16 weeks of vision therapy we were blown away by her improvement. We just have her 3 month follow up apportionment and she has maintained all her progress.

I was skeptical at first, but the results were amazing! A complete 180 in my son's ability to read (speed) and comprehend. Highly recommend the program! It grew his confidence and did so much better in school. The staff is amazing and really care for their patients and their success! They make therapy fun and engaging!
