Only leaving 5 stars because it won't allow me to leave 6. Complicated circumstances at work necessitated I have Lasik with little notice. Dr. Yokubaitis, Alexandra, Rebicca, and the rest of the team went out of their way to find time for my procedure with an already-full schedule, and it went smoothly. It was quick, painless, and I can see better than I ever have before. When my employer asked for a last-minute doctor's note and Dr. Yokubaitis was not in the office, he still ensured I was able to get one right away. I Highly recommend this team for anyone considering Lasik, not only for their experience and exceptional skill, but also for their above and beyond customer service!
Originally 1 star: I tried to make an appointment multiple times and every time they dropped the ball. I guess they don't need our business so we're talking it elsewhere. Update to 4 stars: I had a referral to this place from the aforementioned "elsewhere" since I had gone to an optometrist and the referal was for further testing with an ophthalmologist. (My wife's referal was to the 1st St. branch, which I reviewed separately.) This place is nice and expansive. My only complaint is about the multiple calls to the back and the intevening wait times, which seemed to drag. I have to go back for further testing but they told me it will take a long time--about 3 hours--so I'm more prepared this time.
I'm giving them a 1/2 star this is 2nd time around on cataract surgery and they have failed to call me to let me know what time to be there. Communication isn't their strong point.
Absolutely horrible place to have any type of Ophthalmology and/or Optometric services done.
I would say "The Eye Clinic" and doctors will give you the same service that you would get at a Walmart Optical. Perhaps Walmart Optical would be a bit better.
I am an Optometric Physician in California, and I called "The Eye Clinic" several days ago and spoke to the office manager "David" about the gross incompetence and gross negligence concerning a doctor (Dr. Chad East) that had examined my brother for a comprehensive eye exam and glasses from March 2023.
My brother went back to Dr. East (6-7) times over a nine month period because he had double vision anytime that he wore his new glasses.
Dr. East kept telling him that he had a muscle imbalance and that this was something that he would have to live with. Live with constant double vision, this is what Dr. East told him on several office visits, unfortunately Dr. East was not joking.
Well, I had my brother see an Optometric Physician colleague of mine at a private clinic in Pasadena, Tx for a second opinion, and within 20-30 minutes during the exam, the new doctor discovered that the glasses Rx was completely wrong.
When the new doctor showed my brother the new glasses Rx, my brother's double vision was gone, and still is to this day.
My brother went (9) months and several office visits with double vision. He could not drive at night, he had significant problems reading or working at his computer because of the double vision. This is the worst case of GROSS negligence and GROSS incompetence that I have experienced in my (30) years as an Optometric Physician.
As of writing this review, no one from "The Eye Clinic" has bothered to call me back to apologize, to review my brothers case with me (as David said he would) or give a refund to my brother for glasses that were so horrifically wrong for (9) months.
It is facilities like "THE EYE CLINIC" that give a bad name to Ophthalmology and/or Optometric clinics that do an honest business, and really do care about their patients.
BEWARE that "THE EYE CLINIC" has locations in DeRidder, Lake Charles, Jennings, Moss Bluff and Sulphur. I would stay away from all their satellite offices as well.
So if you want Ophthalmologists and/or Optometric doctors that are incompetent and completely negligent to their patients, then I would say that "THE EYE CLINIC" is the place for you!

TERRIBLE customer service. Wouldn't take a copy of an insurance card even from the provider that sent us here. Does not take HSA of my child unless the father is present. Never seen such terrible customer service in healthcare. Find someone who actually cares about patients. Took off work for this appointment just to walk out without being seen. Edited to add. The financial director claims it's a HIPPA violation to use an HSA card for a child without the other parent present. They need to state that's an OFFICE POLICY in one of their 4 reminder calls they give.
Went in for my appointment, and because I refused to dialate my eyes, I was told the doctor wouldn't see me. AFTER getting the GM involved, I was seen. Then, I was charged $99 dollars for them to order my contacts. Because I'm a new patient. WHAT!! Needless to say, I'll never go back. Over priced, and they charge you for everything. $25 for your PD, with a side of rude..
Make my appointment a year in advance but to get a Saturday appointment I had to wait until August 1 to make an appointment for a Saturday. Called August 1 and they gave an appointment for August 10. Show up for appointment and I'm advised that my vision insurance won't cover my years eye exam until November. My whole day wasted. They told me that my appointment should have been scheduled for November and that the person making my appointment should have told me. Been going every year for years. I. try to get Saturday appoint every year to avoid missing a work day. They need to keep patients informed especially long term patients. Thanks for ruining my Saturday!
Went there to be treated for Keratoconnus. The doctor was very late and did not listen to anything I had to say. He wanted to do a procedure on my good eye and I refused. I was fitted with a pair of schleral contact lenses that cost $ 1000.00 that did not fit. I had to go back twice for them to adjust them and they still didn't fit. The left contact was so rigid that it gave me an ulcer on my cornea. While fitting me with the contact lenses, they treated me like I wasn't even there. They didn't explain anything to me or talk to me at all. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
