I highly recommend Dr. Shelby! He performed my cataract surgery two days ago, and I have not experienced any pain or discomfort! I was so amazed at the Willis Knighton Eye Institute team taking such great care of their patients at every phase of the process. I was kept informed of everything coming up. I postponed this surgery for years, not realizing how easy it would be! Thank you, Dr. Shelby!

Dr. Shelby did a great job on my cataract surgery in 2021. I began to have some haziness to my vision over the past year or so. He used the laser to clean my implanted lenses in the office, no pain. 5 minutes tops. His dad took care of my dad years ago. His son is as exemplary a surgeon as his dad was. I am grateful for his staff and his care.

This was honestly the most pleasant experience I've ever had in any doctors office before. The entire staff was nice and upbeat and really look like they enjoyed their jobs. I had driven an hour and 45 minutes for this appointment and the office knew that and as I was there having test done, they offered me drinks and snacks, knowing that I had driven a long way. Great experience all around

My eyes are doing great less than a week out of surgery.
My surgery was postponed the Friday afternoon before surgery for several weeks due to a problem between WK and Blue Advantage. When no prior authorization was needed. Not sure whose fault it was but it happened to three of us. My Baton Rouge driver still had to pay per sitters $150 and I paid her back. She had to rework off days as well.
I had several more weeks of anxiety. Probably one of the maddest times I've had lately. I would like to know whose fault this was.
I am happy that I am able to write this rant without cheaters. I have astigmatism toric lenses. Chelsea, Karen, and staff were excellent.
WK had several weeks to figure this out and I would like Susan or someone to answer why.

Had my right eye cataract surgery done and the whole process went beautifully. I look forward to having the left eye done next week. The process was fast and painless with no complications. The only downside is that now I can see that I need to mop my kitchen floor! Thank you Dr. Shelby for the gift of clear vision!

Dr Shelby and his staff are the best I have ever seen. They are like a big family that invites you into their office with such friendly faces. My personal opinion is that Dr Shelby has the best bedside manner I have ever seen. He did cataracts, lasik and now he is trying to help me with my floaters. He is the first Dr that ever said he could. I would not go anywhere else. Thank you Dr Shelby!!!

Dr. Shelby came in asked me what I was supposed to be having done and I answered left eye cataract surgery. He was very polite and friendly to me. After that I was able to leave. Didn't know that it was over that quickly. Surgery went very smoothly and good. Thank you and I'm ready for my right eye surgery to be done.

He returned to Shreveport where he earned a medical degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, serving his internship and residency at the same institute. Dr. Shelby performs all his cataract surgery at WK Eye Surgery Center located at WK Eye Institute - North. Dr. Shelby teaches cataract surgery to LSU ophthalmology residents at the Overton Brooks VA Medical Center. He also trains fellow ophthalmologist on the LenSx Femtosecond laser. Dr. Shelby is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
