Dr. Russ Van Norman

I went to Dr Van Norman , for cataract surgery. I had the best review him. He listened to my concerns and he was very professional. I feel so comfortable with him doing my cataract surgery. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

I have never had a better overall experience with any health provider and I've worked in the healthcare industry since 1975. The skill and compassion that Dr. Van Norman treats each of his patients is beyond any of my expectations. I had cataract surgery on both eyes and could see clearly without glasses or contacts for the first time in my life. No pain, no fuss it was a perfect experience start to finish. Not gonna lie, I was anxious because of floater problems I had with one eye that caused me to postpone surgery for a few months. But Dr. Van Norman was very attentive and careful, approving my surgery only when he was confident of the outcome. But it is not just his skill that I admire, it is the management of his practice. I actually look forward to my appointments because of the welcoming atmosphere in his office. I have never seen a happier staff or a more efficient practice in my life and I've seen a lot from the inside/out. These folks know what they are doing and they are doing the best job of it I have ever seen or experienced. I had no ties to this practice, just researched and ended up choosing him and I am so very very glad I did. Seriously make you life easier, if you need to see an Ophthalmologist, Van Norman is the one you want!

I am a 49 year old woman with -9 vision. Yesterday, Dr VanNorman performed LASIK on me. Today, I drove myself to my appointment! I can read the subtitles on my TV. For the first time in 38 years, I can SEE without wearing glasses or contacts. I can keep my grandkids overnight without sleeping in my contacts!

Dr. Van Norman did nothing to my husband eyes basically just taking our money. He had us come and run test on his eyes but not once order any glasses or given medication ( eye drops) to correct his eye sight, didn't refer us out to another doctor, nothing. This is very frustrating and poor business/ patient care. You are suppose to help your patients. If I could give negative stars I would. I know God want us to treat everyone right, not just certain people. This experience with Dr. Van Norman is sad.

This office is amazing. I have been seeing another ophthalmologist for years and decided to get a second opinion. On the morning of my appointment with Dr Van Norman, I was having issues with being able to arrive on time. I called the office and explained that I was unable to make my appointment time, the front office staff was so very accommodating and rescheduled me for later in the day. When I arrived and was called back, every staff interaction was very friendly and professional. Dr Van Norman took extra time to explain my eye issue thoroughly and went over my options. I am very impressed with the level of care that I received and will definitely remain at this practice!

Dr. Van Norman and his staff are the helpful and friendly. After my cataract surgery my life has truly changed for the better and it is all because of Dr. Van Norman. My surgery was painless and was very fast. At the office you never feel rushed through your appointment and he explaines everything in a way that you can understand. I think he's the best.

I'm going to say it. If I could leave 0 stars I would. I was going to Dr. Russ because I have a recurring cornea abrasion. Dr. Russ had me scheduled to cut the bad section off, which I've had done twice already. I have bad anxiety problems and I'm prescribed xanax. In the past two procedures I have passed out. So I've called Dr. Russ office multiple times on different days on the extention for medical questions. No one answers, I left voicemails. No one calls me back. I show up today for my procedure and asked it I could take my medication. They then tell me I would need a driver. So I said I'll just not take it since I wasn't prepared to have a driver but gave them the heads up i tend to pass out. Dr. Russ's head nurse tells me you either need a driver or need to reschedule because he will not do the procedure if i pass out. I call my mother, who lives in Bethany, to come to the office. I warned them where she lives. I then tell the nurse this all could have been prevented if someone would answer the phone or return a call back. The nurse says they are too busy to check voicemail, that they only check at the end of the day. "So I wouldn't know if you left a voicemail this morning until the end of my sift." I asked then what about yesterday. I left a voicemail yesterday with no call back. She then tells me she didn't get a voicemail from me. At this point I'm waiting on my mom and they come to me and say we are closing for a software update if you mom isn't in the parking lot right now we are going to reschedule you. It has been maybe 30 mins tops since I ask my mom to come and told the nurse my mom lives in Bethany. This whole situation blows my mind. This whole situation could have been avoided if they return calls or voicemail. They clearly didn't care enough about my question or voicemail and clearly are not willing to wait and work with a patient that is in excruciating pain. I DID NOT RESCHEDULE! I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!
