Frederick Eye Dr (inside Costco)

Been coming for years. The doctors are very nice. They take their time to explain everything needed. Usually always on time. Can also book online which is great. Can get your glasses filled then right at Costco. Very simple.

Made an appointment using the online system. Days later I received a call to let me know the time I reserved was booked by another patient making an appointment in person. The person on the phone was very polite and offered alternative times. We couldn't find one which worked with my schedule so they suggested I use a different doctor. Giving them two stars because they gave me a heads up they'd double booked.

At 2:30 PM, I made an appointment for 4:30 PM the same day. This location is somewhat of a hike and usually with a decent amount of traffic. However, the closer Costco Optical where I usually go (and I've only had positive experiences) didn't have any appts available in the next two weeks so I took a chance. At 3:45 PM (while sitting in traffic), I received a call from this center. The woman on the phone said, "Hello....you have a 4:30 appointment with "Frederick Optical" (not sure of the exact name?)?" After I confirmed that I did make this appointment, she told me that the appointment was no longer available because they had a "walk in" come and take that appointment time. I clarified...."You allowed someone to walk in and take the I appointment that I booked online on YOUR system AFTER I booked the appointment?" She simply said..."Yes"---seemingly having no idea why this is not an okay "system". It is absurd that they have an online system to book appointments, but they allow "walk ins" to bump people from those appointments. (For Seinfeld fans, it's reminiscent of the car rental episode..."You know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation--holding!) Needless to say, I will stick with the closer Costco option in the future!

I had one of the best experiences today at Frederick Eye Dr. I was late, it was my fault. As reception was working to reschedule Dr Hatrick overheard. She was clearly doing something but went out of her way to help me out. She did not have to help,so many people don't today. She made my day and I can't thank her enough. #RealCustomerCare

I called this office to get information about making an appointment and was shocked by the rude treatment I received. The person on the phone claimed to be the manager but had a terrible attitude. She told me that if I didn't have my insurance information ready, I should call another time because she was busy with two other people. Her tone was extremely unprofessional and dismissive. She even suggested I check online services instead, but the way she spoke was just plain rude and unhelpful. Definitely not the kind of service I expected.

It was great to finally go to a provider who is up to date with visual field testing technology. Dr. Jan was extremely nice and caring. He took his time to carefully examine my eyes. It was my first time at an optometrist office this small so the waiting area felt a little too tight for me. However, I had a very good experience over all. Great service at a reasonable cost.

Was easy to schedule an appointment and did not have to wait long for the doctor. His front desk staff is pleasant and Dr. Jan is very professional. He took the time to answer my questions and did not make me feel rushed. He also did not pressure me to buy anything from him but gave me all my options so I could make an informed decision. I had gone to a couple other OD for second opinions but felt like they didn't take time to listen to my issue or they were very aggressive with trying to sell their products. I felt like Dr. Jan made me feel very comfortable and I would highly recommend him for any of your vision care needs!

I hadn't gone to Dr. Jan inside of Costco, ever! I finally read the reviews and tried it for myself! I thought it was wonderful. The doctor took her time and double checked when she took measurements or something didn't seem quite right. The ladies at the reception desk were very efficient and kind. Then I walked out and ordered glasses. With their help I found out I wanted a change and they helped me try on no ledd than 8 pair of frames. I've been getting compliments all day at work! Great job guys!
