Dr. Shah is a gifted clinician -both in terms of his technical expertise and his patient care. I am thrilled with the outcome of procedures he has performed and the careful follow up. I was referred to Dr. Shah by my optometrist after experiencing some loss of peripheral vision. Dr. Shah diagnosed me with detached retinas in both eyes (in various stages), and if I didn't get surgery in the very near future to repair this condition, I risked losing my vision completely. It was a terrifying diagnosis, but Dr. Shah and his office alleviated my stress by patiently answering all of my post-appointment emails and calls to ensure I fully understood the diagnosis and surgery process. I went through with the surgeries approximately 1 month apart, to allow the first eye to heal and vision to restore before proceeding with the second. Both of my surgeries were a success and Dr. Shah was able to restore full peripheral vision in both eyes! I feel very fortunate that I was referred to Dr. Shah. He is not only a great surgeon, but has a wonderfully kind manner that is hard to find. If anyone has to go through something like this, there is no one I could recommend more highly.

Cant say enough great things about Dr. Shah. He is always professional, calm and makes you feel at ease even when your having a serious eye issue. I have been a patient of Dr. Shah for roughly 6 years. I had a serious retinal detachment in my right eye, Dr. Shah did my surgery and you would never know i ever had an issue. I see him every year now for a check up and i actually look forward to my visit.

I first went to Dr. Shah after getting hit in the eye badly with a badminton shuttlecock resulting in a hole in my retina. He performed a superb vitrectomy on me and I have not had any complications or worsening conditions for the several years since then. Dr. Shah clearly explained the condition of my eye, and how he treated it. It is very evident that Dr. Shah is an expert and he has my absolute trust. I have recommended him to another fellow badminton player that was hit in the eye and will continue to strongly recommend him to others who have any issues with their vision.

I have known Dr. Shah for a few years now, and cannot recommend him highly enough. He performed 2 of the 4 surgeries I had in one eye over the course of a few weeks, and I have seen him for many follow-up visits since. His interactions with me are always calming and professional, answering any question with clarity and directness. Dr. Shah is personable and has a great way about him; once when taking a look after a lens implanted during cataract surgery had shifted, he remarked, "we can fix this!" And he did - he employed a state-of-the-art approach (the Yamane technique) which had to be performed at Mass General, where he has privileges.
