He's the best at what he does, without question. He treats me like an intelligent equal; absolutely no God complex to be found where you normally would with other MDs- - which is so refreshing for someone like me who's lot in life is to frequent all types of medical buildings quite often (picture this--i graduated with my bachelors about 10 years ago and for all intents and purposes I've used all PTO time for medical reasons!). It is clear to anyone who's been in his presence that he is extremely busy at all times, yet each and every time I see him we have full discussions which can include him describing my scans and updated treatment plans as well as him answering in clear detail all of my questions. Long story long (that could go longer!!), I would highly recommend Dr. Heier when/if he is accepting new patients and has availability--good thing OCB has so many locations around Mass AND so many other phenomenal doctors and medical professionals.
Dr. Heier did the surgery (vitrectomy) for my macular hole. It's been a year now, and my acuity has improved tremendously. From 20/100 to 20/20. I highly recommend Dr. Heier. And I appreciate his encouragement throughout the treatment.
Side note: I'm around 30 yrs old, so that might help my recovery.
I just read an article written by Dr heier. I was looking up evastin, the medicine used for wet macular degeneration and I was insulted when he said there was no pain from the shot because the needle was so small .Let me just ask him if he's ever had an injection in the eye!!! For me it is extremely painful even when they numb my eye and I personally take 6 ,500 mlg of Tylenol before I have the shot ..I can't do anything after my shot ,so I'm pretty worthless .Right now I'm closing my injected eye so I can write this ..I think Dr heier would feel different and say it is painful of he ever had the misfortune to have to have an injection in his eye .
I had a detached retina and was blind in that eye. Dr Heuer gave me my sight back, I would follow him off a cliff. If your sight is important to you, he is that good.
Dr. Heier is wonderful and has been helping my father with his eye issues for the past several years. He takes the time to explain things and would highly recommend him.
Can't say enough about his caring approach to my condition. Wonderful and friendly staff.
Do not trust Dr. Jeffrey S. Heier MD. He is a Director at Ocular Therapeutix, which over a dozen law firms have investigation concerns whether Ocular and certain of its officers and/or directors have violated Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934
If you are unlucky enough to have macular issues, you will be very lucky indeed to receive the knowledgeable and conscientious care provided by Jeffrey S. Heier, MD.
