I've been a patient at OCB with Dr. Hung for over 10 years as part of my diabetic care. From the moment I get off the elevator, the service is superb. The intake staff is courteous, the tech that brings you into the exam room is courteous and professional. Dr. Hung is amazing. He takes the time to explain everything. When a coworker was looking for an Ophthalmologist, I referred Dr. Hung. She has also been a patient for years now. All in all, OCB deliver excellent care with kindness. Dr. Hung is really great!
This past Saturday, February 2,2026 I went to OCB in Weymouth for my annual eye exam.
The ophthalmologist was not the problem but one of your techs was.
First she had a nasty attitude like she wanted to be anywhere but here.
Clearly, she had my medical history in front of her and my age...over 65.
When she started the eye chart tests which she called "programs" she kept YELLIING the information to read what normal people an eye chart. Finally, the third time she YELLED at me I politely told her "Please stop yelling at me."
This Tech who looked like she was still in high school was exhibiting blatant age discrimination.
I am not deaf just because I am over 65! I have never been treated as rudely as this before.
Definitely shows very poor training and supervision of OCB employees.
Guess you do not want my business.
Will post this on social media.
Deal with it !
I called the office on December 8th to schedule an appointment because I was having trouble seeing. The scheduler told me the first available appointment wasn't until June. I explained that my vision issues were urgent, but she simply added me to a waiting list. She was cold and dismissive, which was especially unsettling given the situation.
Before my visit, I also called about parking and ticket validation. The woman I spoke with initially said she didn't know, and only after I asked her to check did she find the information. Her tone again made me feel like an inconvenience. When I arrived, I couldn't find the garage she described, circled the area three times, and ultimately parked elsewhere.
When I checked in at the office, the woman at the desk never looked at me--she operated like a computer, completely impersonal and disengaged.
The only positive part of this experience came from Laura Fine's office. After I reached out, someone called me immediately, expressed concern, and scheduled me for the next day. She was kind, professional, and surprised that I hadn't been offered an earlier appointment, given the openings.
Based on my experience with the scheduling staff and front desk, I would never recommend OCB to anyone. To me, it felt like an uncaring, cold factory--not the level of care one should expect from an ophthalmology practice.
I had a wonderful experience with Opthalmic Consultants of Boston. As a new patient, I scheduled an appointment well in advance. At my first appointment everything went very smoothly, the staff was very professional, and the Dr was very thorough. I needed a follow-up procedure and Dr Abazari was able to fit me into her schedule before I left town for the winter. Overall I was very impressed.
UPDATE: My appointment was changed AGAIN without notice. But like I said I am so glad I contacted another office with doctors that actually want to see patients! My appointment was canceled a total of 5 times!
Terrible doctors and staff. I sent my referral in march and was able to get an appointment for June 13. The office send me a letter in the mail saying they had to cancel because the doctor's schedule changed. It was changed to July 21st. The week before my appointment I received another letter in the mail saying the exact same thing as the other letter and my appointment was changed to oct 21st. I just received the same letter AGAIN saying they had to cancel and reschedule my appointment for nov 5 with a different doctor now! Never called me whatsoever to ask what days I was available to go they just pick and choose when to cancel and reschedule appointments. Thank god I found care somewhere else
Doctor Reed is absolutely awesome but the frustration trying to actually GET through via phone is so frustrating!!! ER said to call eye doctor first thing in morning and have spent last 75 minutes listening to the most awful music imaginable.
Had successful cataract surgery in one eye last month. Excellent surgeon, care and results. Getting my other eye done tomorrow.
Extremely neglectful and irresponsible.
To start off, I went to an appointment to get eye contacts (I have an eye condition that glasses don't help much) and was told that they'd order my contacts and we'd get the process started. A year later and I never got the call because the contacts were never ordered, they simply forgot about me. I made due with my glasses until the struggle to see became too much and interfered with my everyday life. I made another appointment to officially start the process and it's only been more frustrating since then.
I scheduled all of the appointments ahead of time and at my first appointment I left work early, spent money on gas as well as parking just to arrive and they weren't ordered again. There was an issue with billing but did anyone care to contact me and let me know the appointment wouldn't be able to happen? Nope. Instead they tried to charge me for wasting my time. I called billing about that appointment multiple times yet every appointment I went to I was asked to pay for that appointment and I kept having to explain that their lack of communication is not a reason for me to pay for an appointment where nothing happened, not even an eye exam.
When my contacts were finally ordered I had my fitting, kept the contacts for a couple weeks, and was then waiting for the next improved pair. My next appointment date came and went and I didn't receive my contacts so I called about it and had to leave a voicemail (as usual because the office you get contacts from never picks up). They didn't have the courtesy of giving me a call back (not surprising) but they did overnight the contacts because they were never ordered in the first place!
I brought up to my doctor that I was getting frustrated with how easy, irresponsible, and neglectful it is for a patient to be able to fall through the cracks like that and she smiled and said "It happened but there's nothing we can do about it except move forward". Which to me was brushing it off. I felt it was further brushed off when I asked for a confirmation email of my next contact order and was told I could get one but I never did.
At this point I was hoping to speak to an office manager to get better communication but she wasn't in the office so I had to leave a voicemail. It's been 3 days and nobody has gotten back to me.
As I stated before, completely and utterly irresponsible, neglectful, and THEY DO NOT CARE
