Xiaohong Zhou, O.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Zhou is the very best optometrist I ever met. She provides top standard practice, whereby I'm feeling safe in her good hands. Both I and my wife are her patients for years. Given we are both heavy computer users, she always kindly addressed every question we have during our visits and tried to help us out of occasional anxiety regarding any eye concerns. It's really rare to find someone like Dr. Zhou with both optometry and ophthalmology training background. We trust her expertise more than anyone else and enjoy her office visits like an old friend.

Dr. Zhou is amazing optometrist. I am so uncomfortable having my eyes examined that I went decades without getting a glaucoma test - with Dr. Zhou the test was totally bearable. Painless, anxiety-free - her manner is soothing and confident. I especially like the way she provides general good eye practice recommendations and the care she takes making sure that she catches any changes in my vision and eyes. I can't speak highly enough of her, she's a superstar and I am so pleased to have her as an eye-care provider.

Update 12/04/20: Dr Zhou gave me a new appointment and spent much more time with me and retested my eyes, and explained that that my new glasses were off center. I feel much better now that she took the time to explain this to me more clearly and put me at ease. She was very nice. I was not charged for the second visit. Thank You. She does want her patients to be happy. Old Review: I felt very rushed by Dr. Zhou at my eye appointment, and when I picked up my new glasses I can not see out of them. I think my prescription is wrong. My vision in my new glasses is double vision and very blurry. I don't know what to do? I have diabetes, and need a Dr. with lots of experience with diabetic patients, I do not think Dr. Zhou took enough time with me and did a very thorough exam. My prescription is definitely not right.

I have a rare eye condition that is hard to diagnose. When I was eighteen, the Neuro- Ophthalmology department at MEE made it possible for me to drive, get the correct glasses etc. My recent appointment with Dr. Zhou was my first time meeting with her (for a new prescription). She knew my chart completely, was very accommodating, listened to my questions, was easy to talk to and most importantly, kind. I am so excited to continue to work with her. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Zhou if you are able to. Thank you once again for making this such a positive experience!

I was seen on time and the provider spent an adequate amount of time with me. I also am the caregiver for my sister who is special needs. Dr. Zhou was very good with her allowing her the time she needed to respond to questions she was asking.

The best Dr ever!!! She provided a clear explanation of the procedure, so I always know what to do to prepare. She is professional and considerate enough to consider my concerns and patiently explain things to my satisfaction. Throughout the entire exam, I feel at ease and cared for. Her bilingual skill also made my visit very easy and comfortable . I feel respected and welcome.

Dr Xiahohong did the entire exam on me. I badly needed prescription glasses but this was the first time a doctor did the entire exam. In the past I was first seen by a technician but sometimes it may not create the best results so I was thrilled the doctor did everything. I did not like her results at first- I was told no glasses for me as I have Cataracts in both eyes and the only avenue I have is surgery to correct my vision situation. Currently I underwent surgery for endometrial carcinoma. They got rid of everything and the surgery was a complete success however,. I am in the middle of chemo and radiation and the thought of another surgery scared me but Dr Xiahohong immediately put me at ease and explained everything about the eye surgery so I am looking forward to having the procedures done thanks to her explanation. Thank you Dr Xiahohong and MEEI for all your help.

Dr. Zhou is an excellent professional. She depicts what it means to deliver service in a true professional manner. professionalism is encountered when it is delivered by the rightly trained person. And Dr. Zhou is such a person. Thank you Dr. Zhou for your diagnosis and solutions to my eye issues that brought me to you.
