OCB Cambridge Eye Center

I am a patient of Dr Hsu. My experience with him has been excellent. From general eye care to cataract surgery, he has been a model of the kind of care that medical professionals should strive for. I couldn't be happier.

A very professional caring staff. I have total faith in every one of them. They all make you feel at ease!

Insanely unprofessional - my wife scheduled her appointment six months in advance, showed up on time, and was told that her appointment was moved over a month away with zero notice. The receptionist made zero effort to correct this - she told us to leave and call for cancellations?! Why on earth would calling be the solution when we were physically at the office?!

I've gone to OCB Cambridge for several years for my medical care, and they are extremely professional there. I like this location because the parking is convenient, and it's less stressful than going downtown Boston. They are very good with eyes, and if you need their expertise, I would strongly go here. Side note: they are very close to public transit AND Sofra (excellent bakery around the corner) :)

This OCB center is located in a convenient part of West Cambridge near the Mt. Auburn Star Market. It has free parking in the back and a nice entrance there. I saw Dr. Rao first, who determined that my various eye problems could be treated best by Dr. Hsu. Both doctors were friendly and professional and I have further appointments with Dr. Hsu, who was very outgoing and obviously an expert in the problem we are dealing with. So far I've had only diagnoses and no surgery but it has all been very positive. The only drawback is that they are very busy, so it may not be possible to get an appointment soon if that is what you need.

I went to an optometrist for an eye exam and they noticed something urgent on my scans. They contacted OCB and the Cambridge location got me in within 2 hours for a same-day appointment! I was 30-ish minutes late due to traffic and they still got me in right away. Maybe it was just a slow day but they were friendly and professional, even though I was a last-minute add (and late to boot)! I highly recommend them and will return.

I had an appointment on July 18th at 10:30 AM. I arrived 10 minutes early and was told to wait. 11 o'clock approached. I asked when I would be seen and the receptionist could only provide a vague answer "probably at least 2-3 hours". When I responded with disbelief she told me the the doctor was very thorough and I should have been told this information when I booked the appointment. I have no idea why knowing this, they simply couldn't build this into the scheduling. There was one other person in the waiting room, who arrived well after me. Yet I was told that there were two people in front of me. After voicing my displeasure with all of this, I left. I've never experienced such poor service and such an incompetent and uncaring staff. Furthermore, when I called the main number to complain, I was put on hold for ten minutes and told the manager would call me back to address my concerns. He never did (It was a he, I'm not assuming here). Stay away from this place or be prepared to completely waste your time.

Testing is done in multiple sites with prolonged wait times. I spent almost 350 dollars in Uber rides to get to danvers and boston for testing because my eyes were dilated and i couldn't drive. When i finished the second round of tests i expected to make a surgery date but no, i am being asked to go for further testing and the earliest i could be scheduled was for December. I am more than frustrated and meanwhile am blind in one eye and can't drive at nite or see my computer screen clearly. By the time i actually have my cataract operation it will be almost a full year since my first appointment and that is just wrong.
