I visited Lifetime Vision in Quincy with high expectations -- it has advanced technology and excellent reviews (4.9 stars on Google). Unfortunately, my experience did not match the high rating. My appointment was delayed by about 20 minutes due to an urgent case, which seemed to affect how my exam was handled.
During the visit, Dr. Mary Vo focused heavily on the cost of retinal imaging, even though I was fine with the procedure, had done it many times before, and knew the pricing through my insurance. After discussing costs, she only checked my vision and did not review or explain the results of the retinal imaging or other tests. My appointment felt rushed, and I was told I would need to come back for dilation. I did not make a follow-up because it would require paying again, even though this should have been included in my original comprehensive eye exam.
I also emailed after the exam asking for clarification about the test results and imaging, but never received a response. Because of this experience, I did not return in 2025 and do not plan to return. I prefer a provider who performs a complete exam and communicates clearly about eye health.
I will avoid Lifetime Vision for a LIFETIME. My appointment was scheduled months in advance, but the only reminder I received was a text one day before, on a Sunday. I left a voice message the same day to cancel due to business meetings on Monday, yet they are still insisting I pay a $25 late-cancellation fee. This is extremely short-sighted because by enforcing this fee so rigidly, they are losing any future business from me. While their eye care may be fine, a practice that treats customers like this is not worth recommending.
I am writing this to warn others about the clinical shortcuts at this office. During my exam, the staff had me perform a critical diagnostic vision test while wearing an outdated, under-powered contact lens prescription. Even though I explicitly questioned the technician about the accuracy of testing me with the wrong lenses, I was told to proceed.
Later that same hour, the doctor's own refraction proved my prescription had changed significantly. Using a weaker prescription during a diagnostic test makes the results medically invalid, yet the office used these flawed results to suggest a concerning outcome and multiple follow up appointments.
When I reached out to discuss the technical errors and ask for both a voided insurance claim and my money back, the Office Manager called me to tell me I was being "unreasonable."
It is your eyes. Don't let anybody at a medical office tell you that your concerns about accurate testing are unreasonable. If you value a provider who uses the correct data before making a medical assessment, I suggest looking elsewhere. I have filed a formal grievance with my insurance provider to void this claim and am seeking a second opinion with an ophthalmologist who will do their due diligence when examining patients.
Very professional and friendly service, Lifetime Vision is a great optometry service in Quincy, with a clean office, comfortable surroundings, and good prices.
The assistants are quick and easygoing, so the routine pre-exams are handled easily. The doctors are experienced and cordial, so they relate any information about diagnoses in a way that is easy to grasp but also comprehensive.
My baby is really happy about this, and she has prepared a woolen crochet mat especially for it
lifetime Vision is wonderful from when you first walk in the door very friendly receptionist , Dr Vo is amazing very knowledgeable . Amazing staff.. I'm very happy ,I would highly recommend Lifetime Vision
I came here to get a new pair of prescription eyeglasses, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. The optical center of my lenses was measured incorrectly because the front desk staff -- not an optician -- performed the measurement (by hand) without first adjusting the nose pads. This raises a serious concern about whether the person handling such an important step was even properly licensed or trained. The result was an improper fit that made the glasses uncomfortable to wear, and the clinic had to redo them.
On top of that, the first set of lenses they recommended (digital single vision) turned out not to be suitable for me - they were blurry. Again, it could be due to the optical center not being accurately determined since it was done by hand. They couldn't tell exactly why. So we switched to traditional single vision lenses instead. These are actually less expensive, but I was still charged the higher price of the digital lenses. They refused to refund me the price difference, nor would they reissue me an updated invoice that reflected the lenses that I was actually receiving (so that they could bill my insurance the more expensive lenses).
So many things are wrong here: lack of transparency, questionable billing practices, and their refusal to refund for a product I didn't end up receiving. Dishonest and unethical.
To make matters worse, the quality of the glasses was poor. The lenses developed a scratch within just a few days of normal wear, and one of the screws on the frame even fell out. For a pair of glasses that I was charged over $650 for, the quality was far from acceptable.
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience and enough for me to decide not to return as a customer. I do not recommend this practice -- in fact, I would suggest avoiding it altogether.
I couldnt be happier with this practice. Amazing doctors, great communication, excellent front desk services and personnel and such skilled technicians. They are wonderful and always go the extra mile.
