I had my own first appointment here a few months ago and everyone was friendly and helpful. Last week I needed to find a new place to bring my 5 year old to order a new pair of glasses. My daughter has had glasses since she was 2 and it can be very tricky to figure out which style and size will work best for someone so little and quickly growing. My daughter was very excited to pick out new glasses and talk to the employees. She was asking about every single item on the employees desk and the woman was so kind and patient! She showed my daughter how the tool that measures the PD works and explained what it measures, etc. The woman was also very helpful with helping me look over the different options offered from our insurance and making a decision. I am kicking myself for not getting the employees name but it was the best experience we've ever had getting new glasses!

Very good reception, and the doctor explained to me the problem with my vision and the cause of myopia. Before I didn't even know what it was due to. The staff in general is very professional.

The doctor was great, the staff was nice. Unfortunately Masshealth doesn't cover the anti-glare coating on glasses, and the staff didn't even ask if I wanted to pay for it. As a result I had to send my glasses off to get the coating applied after the fact, which is not as good. I would recommend to the staff to always ask if people want to pay for the coating. IMO it is a real safety hazard to be driving at night without an anti-glare coating.

I have been going to Dr Aleo for years and he is absolutely wonderful- you can tell he truly cares about his patients. However, I recently had a truly horrible interaction/experience with one of his front desk staff who really conducted herself in a poor manner. She made condescending comments and when I addressed her behavior she got extremely defensive and angry before hanging up. I can see from the reviews this is a recurring issue which is truly unfortunate and that I strongly feel management should address this behavior before this has any further effect or impact on the business. I understand the frustration of managing different personalities, patient expectations, and the frustrations that come with patient administration but its important to remember that effective communication goes a long way. This is especially true for first line staff. How you conduct yourself on the job leaves a lasting impression on the business and its culture and its unfortunate that you are tarnishing your employers reputation especially amongst long time patients. I recommend being more proactive about practicing effective listening skills and learn to be more patient - try and understand the issue, question, or confusion the patient is experiencing so you can address appropriately. Conduct yourself in a professional manner, do not provoke patients, and empathize with your patients- Do not start to argue patients and than hang up on them when they ask you to please stop being rude and to talk to them disrespectfully. This is CS 101. I am pretty easy going so this behavior us absolutely unnecessary, unprofessional, and should not be tolerated. Also, pay attention to your Insurance billing I've had them bill the insurance incorrectly twice last year. My insurance caught the double billing last year and rejected it immediately but they rebilled for a different service that was not rendered which cut into my contact allowance. I never bothered saying anything because I just didnt have the time but moving forward I will be paying attention and if any further errors or issues occur in any capacity I will now speak up.

Extremely rude staff. Made an appointment, waited a month for them to call me the day before to tell me I do not have insurance. I do in fact have insurance and verified it and the woman was rude and hung up. Don't waste your time. Seeing a much more professional office thank goodness. Update: read other reviews from the same time frame. Many people were experiencing the same issue. The practices response to me was not accurate. It was not a matter of accepting my insurance. Thier rude staff member was condescending, raised thier voice and hung up. Its terrible to be unprofessional but to gaslight people on the events that took place is another issue. Eye Health Vision Center was much more professional to work with.

Dr. Brandes and Dr. Hannigan are exceptional! I have never met Dr. Aleo but I suspect the same can be said about him. The staff members are professional and friendly, the office is clean and inviting, and I always end up very pleased with the experience when I am there for an exam. Highly recommended!

I have been going here forever and have always been happy. Now, they will not take you without insurance. I have always paid cash or on my HSA Card and never an issue. Time to find a new Eye Dr. For myself, wife, and kids.

This office is wonderful. Because of my new insurance, we had to switch to a different eye doctor. We dropped that insurance, shopped for days, kept calling to see if they accepted the one we were looking at.. all because my family wanted Dr. Aleo. Simply the best.
