Eye Care and Laser Surgery of Newton - Wellesley

I underwent LASIK at Eye Care and Laser Surgery of Newton-Wellesley in December of 2018, and more than seven years later, the results continue to be outstanding. Prior to the procedure, I had significant astigmatism in one eye along with worsening distance vision that was interfering with everyday activities and overall quality of life. I spent roughly 18 months attempting to adapt to glasses, which ultimately resulted in frequent headaches and ongoing practical limitations. After careful consideration, I elected to move forward with LASIK under the care of Dr. Marc Leibole, and it remains one of the best healthcare decisions I have made. As of January 2026, I continue to maintain 20/20 vision, with stable, lasting results that have not diminished over time. The improvement in daily functioning and visual clarity has been substantial and enduring. Beyond the excellent outcome, the experience at the practice has always been exceptional, in my opinion. As a healthcare provider myself, I can attest that the office staff is consistently respectful, professional, and accommodating, and they manage to balance efficiency with a genuine sense of warmth and humor that immediately puts patients at ease. Every interaction reflects a well-run ophthalmology practice that values both precision and patient comfort. I have zero reservations recommending LASIK at Eye Care and Laser Surgery of Newton-Wellesley to anyone considering vision correction. The long-term success of my procedure, combined with the quality of care and professionalism of Dr. Leibole and his team, speaks for itself. I remain extremely pleased with the results and grateful for the level of care I received.

Could not more highly recommend! Even though the office was very busy, they made room for me (a new patient) in the schedule a couple hours after I called. The waiting room was the most positive and joyful place I have been in a while. They clearly care about their patients and the atmosphere they create. Doctor Candal, was extremely smart, kind, caring, wise, careful. The team is comprehensive and they clearly know their work deeply and also care about the people. This is so rare!!

Dr. Leibole is an exceptional doctor not only in his knowledge and expertise, but also in his calm and caring manner. You will be well taken care of for your eye needs by this excellent practice.

I got LASEK here and can say that between the consultations, the procedure, and the follow-up appointments that this seems like a great place for eye. From Jen and the other secretaries' committed service at the front, to Kelly's consistently upbeat and friendly demeanor, to Dr. Leibole's effective service, I've been happy to come by the place for my appointments. Though I've had a few times where I've had to wait a lot longer than expected, it wasn't a big enough issue to take a star off considering everything else.

I would highly recommend Dr. Leibole to family, friends and anyone else! When I was considering Lasik, he was so thorough walking me through the entire process that I didn't have a single question and never considereda second opinion. Whether you're just looking for a eye doctor or considering Lasik, there is no one better in the business than Dr. Leibole.

Dr.Leibole and his technicians were really great at making my procedure a comfortable experience and walking me through every step. I highly recommend them to anyone considering Lasik. Jenn the office manager was also very helpful and responsive to all the questions I had about finances and booking all my follow up appointments. Great Staff! I'm extremely satisfied :)

This is one of the best run practices I've ever been to! The front desk staff are extraordinarily friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable about the complicated world of co-pays. I was quickly taken into the exam room, where I had a preliminary exam by a highly skilled technician who clearly and confidently explained what he was measuring and why. He was engaging and enthusiastic about the work, which are wonderful traits that you don't often see in this type of setting. The portion of the visit with Dr. Leibole was efficient yet thorough and not rushed. As a non-clinician, it's often difficult to judge someone's clinical skills, but Dr. Leibole's are superb. When I first stated seeing Dr. Leibole several years ago, he was the first ophthalmologist who identified and explained why I often have trouble reading the letters on an eye chart, even though my vision is generally quite good. Prior optometrists and ophthalmologists had just laughed it off, but Dr. Leibole actually addressed the issue. Although less important than the clinical care, the physical space is terrific. The new location (as of September 2021) is close to the previous space, it's easy to find, and there is plenty of (free) parking. The office suite is well designed, and the patient flow is intuitive. Again, this is not something you see every day. The overall patient experience is wonderful, and I recommend this practice for everyone.

Eye Care Laser Surgery of Newton is a top notch place. It was my first time there and Dr. Leibole was wonderful as well as his staff! The office building is very clean and modern. I truly recommend this office you won't regret it.
