Iam writing a message to Dr zacharia. In regards to a friend of my who couldn't reschedule in to Peter in person. Because he had got sick the day of this appointment with Peter. This as happened to other in the past as well as the present. must be the person who answers the phone has to be a non understanding to possible new patients coming to see Peter for the first time. The person the the office should be fired asap. I don't know if Peter is aware of this problem. I person who talk the call is extremely rude!!!!!!!!
Today I called their office to reschedule my appointment. That is scheduled for five days from today 8/11. Previously, I have rescheduled the same appointment because I was going to be out of town. And I gave them more than 72 hours notice that I needed to reschedule this appointment. Today when I called to reschedule the appointment due to travel responsibilities. I was quite frankly, harassed and told that I have already rescheduled the same appointment. I felt that the woman was rude. She was Not understanding, or willing to hear what I had to say about why I needed to reschedule. Not that it was any of her business, but it was due to a family member being sick and me having to travel out of town. I felt that I was doing the appropriate thing and calling to reschedule the appointment rather than not showing up. The woman was rude, and I am ready to find a different provider. I enjoy the doctor. He is thorough, and a wonderful doctor. But the receptionist he has is very rude. And quite frankly I will be requesting not to interact with this receptionist in the future if o am to continue to be a patient. And if this is a problem, he is not the only eye doctor I town.
Very disappointed,

The doctor and technician were great. The person you speak to when you call or check in is extremely rude. She's very short with her answers and refused to let me speak with a manager about a billing issue - first stating she's not there, she works from home. Then stating the manager would not call me back when I asked her to have the manager call me. I will be finding another doctor for my husband.
This is an experienced, thorough, terrifically insightful ophthalmologist. When all else failed, he was able to preserve the eyesight of my elderly mother-and I now trust him with mine. Any negative comments are (honestly) uninformed: You want the best? Well, you might have to wait.
People-you are seeing the best ophthalmologist around! It ain't McDonald's. Clear your schedule, bring a book, and actually sit with yourself a few minutes. The entitlement I'm reading on these pages is sobering.
Sheesh!
While our experience with the Doctor himself has been good, the policy of charging 75 dollars for cancelling an appointment is outrageous. We canceled well before the 2 day limit but because it was on a weekend, it didn't count. To charge an elderly person on a fixed income this amount is outrageous. We'll be looking for a new doctor.
My 88-year-old mother goes to this office. She is made to wait several hours for her appointment. The woman at the desk is rude to her every time she is there. Today, after she had waited over an hour she told them she was leaving. Their response was, "Well then just go". She has been complaining about this office for years, but never felt like she should leave because her other doctors referred him. Today was the last of it. They abuse their patients with wasting their time and being so incredibly rude.
I brought my grandparents to an appointment here and they enjoyed the services from the doctor. They were told they should expect the appointment all together to be a couple hours so we were prepared for a wait. However, the desk staff and receptionist we incredibly rude and had absolutely no sympathy for the patients - most of whom are elderly. The doctor might do great things, but the rest of the team is subpar at best. While waiting for my grandparents appointment to be done, I stayed in the waiting room for 2+ hours and they displayed no kindness whatsoever. I saw them laugh and joke about getting a large bill when one patients insurance got messed up, blame the patient (who already waited 1.5 hours) that they weren't being patient enough that the doctor was running behind and they had no rooms available. Perhaps don't overbook that badly? Just overall bad attitudes and if my grandparents didn't like the service from the doctor himself, no way in hell would be come back here. The staff needs some retraining for sure
Be Warned!
Every bad review that has been written about this doctor and his office staff is true, with the exception of Ashley and Misty. How they continue to work here is beyond belief!
At my first visit I had to wait about two hours for 20 minutes of service. The waiting room was packed and so were the four patient rooms in the back. Dr. Zacharia treats patients like cattle, crams as many in as possible while we wait and wait for bad service. This goes on at every appointment.
During my last visit I had to wait at the check-in window while Stephanie, the receptionist discussed her personal life with her co-worker. There I stood waiting. When she finally rudely asked for my name she went right back to her discussion without further interest in me. As I was about to go sit down for the long wait, Stephanie requested my payment. Instead of charging me my $15 co-pay she demanded a $100 payment claiming that some patients do not like getting large bills after service so she was charging me more now. I have never heard of such a practice and was flabbergasted.
After waiting for over an hour I was taken back to a patient room where I had to sit for 45 minutes in the uncomfortable exam chair. It took so long my ride came in to see what had happened to me.
As I sat waiting for the doctor this is what I heard:
1. A patient in another room complained about the wait time.
2. An elderly man came into the office and asked Stephanie, that same receptionist if he had spoken to her on the phone last week. He stated to her that whomever he had spoken to was extremely rude. He repeated this statement three times to no avail.
3. Once the patient who complained about the wait was finally finished she attempted to make an appointment for a Friday stating she really needed Friday. She was not able to get a Friday appointment and left with something else. Once gone, the check-out receptionist who had waited on her stated that she did not think the patient liked her because she could not accommodate the Friday appointment. She went on to say that she did not care as she was not getting into trouble for going over the 6 months required for the next appointment.
When Dr. Zacharia finally came to me, I also complained about the wait. His answer to this was he takes his time with patients and does not rush. He then went on to man-handle me. He was extremely rough when he pried open my eyes to examine me, acted hostile and shoved the machine toward me. I had become very nervous and afraid he would hurt me. He was gone within 10 minutes. So much for taking his time.
I learned my lesson with this place and never went back. The office was going to charge me a flat fee of $16 plus 30 cents per page to process my records so I could move on to another doctor. I refused to pay their extortion fee and took what records I had to the wonderful new doctor I found who did his own thorough examination without Dr. Zacharia's records. And by the way... they over-charged me on the $100 owing me $3.00 which I had to fight to get back.
Be Warned!
