I had my first cataract done November 27 and my left eye was done December 10 because I was so impressed with the results. Thank you for my vision at 77, life is not over yet. Now I'm energized to live longer.
Dr Dimitriv is incredible, kind and very skilled.
I understand that everyone's situation is different, but I highly recommend Dr. Kevin Mundy. My wife and I recently had our eye checkups with him, and we found him to be thoroughly polite, attentive, and very professional. The entire staff, from the front desk to those who conducted the pre-check exams, was equally professional. I would highly recommend and will come back for check-ups.
We need to get the optical shop back in Canton because some elderly can't go to Ann Arbor to get their glasses. I'm handicapped and I can't drive to Ann Arbor to go glasses neither can the elderly. We should be able to get glasses from Canton. I just had my eye exam and I had to go to Optim Eyes to get my glasses and I love Kellogg
Just read a review similar to my own experience. I usually don't leave reviews for clinics but this experience was terrible. I mentioned feeling pain, having visions distortions, and having severe migraines. They booked me for an appointment that was about a month from then, and told me to call back if I had further changes in my vision.
I called back this morning, cause there have been several instances where I almost completely lost my vision for at least a few seconds, and I've been struggling to function or get enough sleep cause of the pain. I mentioned all of my symptoms, and told them that I have been scared and anxious-again, cause I have had tunnel vision SO intense that I cannot see (along with sensitivity, blurry/shakey vision).
Their response to that was "the doctor agrees with your previously scheduled appointment, and doesn't think the symptoms are urgent enough to reschedule." I am young, paying my way through school, and unable to drive regularly and make it to work in order to support myself. I also mentioned being worried about driving with my symptoms, to which I got a similar response of them not thinking it's "urgent enough."
While I don't blame the person on call with me, I am incredibly frustrated with the dismissive attitude of the doctor. I am not a hypochondriac, and am coming to you with genuine concerns about my health and well-being, that also significantly tie into my safety. To have the doctor say that my symptoms aren't urgent enough is another clear example of how they think they know a patient's symptoms better than the patient who is EXPERIENCING them.
I expected a better experience from a university clinic, that strives to give "Michigan answers", instead of diagnosing and dismissing me over the phone. I asked them to cancel my appointment and that I was going to find a doctor that actually cares to listen to their patient's symptoms and concerns-which I did.
TLDR: If you are sick of having doctors dismiss you till your symptoms get bad enough, do not go here. Apparently, being scared of getting into a car accident because you're losing your vision isn't "urgent enough" to them.
My eye test appointment was for 10:00. I has the test within 10 minutes of arriving. The test took no more than 15-20 minutes. My appointment with the doctor was for 10:45. After the nurse came for a short exam, I waited and saw the doctor for no more than 10 minutes. I left the clinic at 11:45. I was so mad. I go to Grand Blanc for another eye problem. I see the nurse for a preliminary eye test, dialation, then go have eye pictures taken, then see the doctor regarding the pictures, and then have an eye injection. All this is done with 1 1/2 hours of the appointment. Someone explain the terrible wait at Canton appointment.
Ophthalmology referred me to their optometry area even though I had a 5 month old prescription. I ended up getting an exam and they charged as an office visit. THey did nothing different than my previous optometrist but charged hundreds of dollars for it. The care was average if that. I felt like I medically needed to go but it ended up being just an optometrist visit.
As a patient of the U-M Kellogg Eye Center in Canton, I am extremely impressed with the professionalism of the staff, and the talent of the doctors. All of them excel in communicating on a level that is easy for someone who is not in the medical field to understand. The doctors take the time to make sure all questions are answered. The office is managed well, and I never have to wait long at all (a rare find in ophthalmology offices, from my experiences). And they are all part of a greater health care network, the U-M Health Care System. I highly recommend Kellogg Eye Center in Canton.
I waited about 3 months for my appointment date to arrive. I completed the echeck in online. I arrived 15 minutes early to the Canton opthomology center. And they cannot see me at my scheduled time. I take the clipboard given to me back up to the check in desk. I tell the nice lady that it is past my appointment time and she tells me it's only been a few minutes past. So, how many minutes do I have to wait past my appointment time which I have made about 3 months ago in order to see the doc? No respect for patient.
