America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I had a great experience today at America's Best in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The friendly staff had me in and out in 40 minutes, gave me a fresh pair of contacts to wear because mine were old, and my checkup was $0 since I paid to be part of the "club" a couple years ago. Ordered contacts for a reasonable rate and sent to my door for only $5 shipping. I couldn't be happier with the care and pricing! Thanks America's best!

I have been a customer for at least 40 years. This is my 3rd. time to this location. The glasses were very dirty, which isn't good as that bad flu is going around. There were a lot of employees there.. She cleaned off the eye machine when I got to the first station. Got my exam, all was good. The person that does the final ordering of your glasses his name was Greg. 2 pair of glasses for $95 single vision, included eye exam. Great deal! This guy Greg decided to put on anti glare to my order. But first told me your order would be $400.00 without the discounts.. I'm like what??? I have never had someone say that to me at Americas Best. Ever.. That was so he could add on another $80 some dollars and I wouldn't notice.. I came back today to get $88 dollars taken off my bill.. The manager took care of me. She was very professional. I will return. But will never deal with Greg again.

"I had a mixed experience at America's Best today. On the positive side, the greeting lady, the nurse, and the optometrist were all fantastic--highly professional and a credit to the company's image. However, the experience changed significantly when I sat down with the sales associate. As soon as he saw my name, Mohammed, and heard my accent, his demeanor shifted. He became dismissive and 'bossy,' treating me as if I didn't understand the process. As someone who spent 13 years as a car salesman and finance manager, I recognized the shift in his sales technique immediately. I came in prepared to spend upwards of $500 on high-quality frames and lenses, but because of his unprofessional attitude and lack of a basic introduction (he never even gave me his name), I stuck to the $245 promotion. His behavior directly cost the store a higher commission and a more satisfied customer. I hope management addresses this, as the medical team deserves a sales staff that matches their level of professionalism." This happened today 02/12/2026

Update: So, America's Worst did reach out to me after my review. They emailed me and informed me that they took my (what I thought was pretty clear review) seriously and that someone would be reaching out to me. I received a voice mail from one of the employees at the store in Grand Blanc stating that she received info from Corporate stating that I was upset that no one offered to fit my glasses and she wanted to resolve the issue. While my explanation of what happened may not have been as clear as it could have been, my problem was that not one of the employees can properly fit glasses. I went back multiple time with three different frames and was not able to get a fit that was comfortable or stay on my nose properly without sliding down. I have no interest in working with them at this point, unless they want to give me a total refund. I'm reducing my overall score from a 2 to a 1. Again, the staff are overall courteous. But, none of them know how to fit glasses, and I don't blame them. I assume it's a highly technical skill that they have not been properly trained to do. Original Review: I've been wearing prescription glasses for over 20 years. I've always chosen glasses from the eye center at which I received my exams and have always had a great experience with fit and quality. After my third pair of frames from America's Worst, I gave up. I have NEVER picked up a pair of glasses without the technician feeling behind my ears and checking the temples and making adjustments...until now. With each new pair of frames, the associate (and I worked with all of them hoping for some level of expertise) would simply say, "how do they feel?". I would explain my concerns and it was always met with explanations of how I need to understand this or that. Basically, you don't know what you're doing. What I understand is they simply don't have the training or skill that it takes to properly fit glasses. I will say that the staff were overall pleasant. But, I've given up and will make do with my previous prescription until I can go back next year. I will definitely pay more for skilled, experienced technicians who know how to properly adjust something that has to be on my face for all of my waking hours. This is my first negative review, ever. I typically choose to leave reviews for stellar experiences as I like to focus on the positive. But, if you're looking for a great fit pay the extra money! You're worth it.

Walked in and the lady at the front desk (Rhonda) had a terrible attitude so we left. Set up an appointment, and apparently the appointment got canceled ( which is fine, things happen). Lady at the front desk said that she tried calling three times to let us know it was canceled, but said a lady picked up my phone the first time and hung up. then she tried calling two more times and it went to voice mail. I responded and said, that was probably one of my daughter's, then she snapped back at me and rudely and aggressively said " No! It was a woman". My wife was with me and she said to the front desk lady, that we didn't ask for an attitude. To which she responded with more of an attitude, " I'm not giving you an attitude!" I said " alright, fine were leaving" and just walked out the front door. Then the lady continued to stare me and my wife and two daughters down as we walked back to our car. I would think that a front desk lady is there to make things welcoming and is supposed to be the first face you see of the company. If that's the case, America's best is definitely not a place I ever want to go back to again. I've been going there for years, but guess it's time to find a new eye doctor.

Customers should be able to ask questions about store policies and pricing without being treated disrespectfully. Unfortunately, my experience here was very uncomfortable. An employee (Greg?) became impatient and raised his voice while approaching me across the store, which felt unprofessional and humiliating. I ultimately decided to leave because of how I was treated. Based on this experience, I would recommend considering other options. I had a great experience shortly after at LensCrafters down the road.

I am usually really satisfied with this location but my visit last week changed that. The machines for the eye exams weren't sanitized before I used them, the glasses on display for customers to try on were visibly dirty with makeup on the nose pads. I was very put off from trying on anymore glasses or purchasing after that. Also, I paid for an additional test to get pictures of the back of my eyes for the doctor to go over with me and when I got to the back with the doctor she checked my vision and said I was all set. I asked about the results from my test and she said "Oh everything looks good". Usually the doctor shows me the pictures and tells me what they show. Really off putting experience all together.

Went in for repair on glasses and updated prescription. Glasses were fixed right away without an issue and adjusted them. The visit went amazing with Dr Howard I believe is her name she was so sweet and kind and seems to really care and want to help which is rare these days.
