I have been getting glasses from Gregory for a few year now. I am never disappointed!! Other places in town could never get it right. But Gregory hits a home run every time!!! Thank you very much!
While I love finding frames here, when I got them repaired due to the screw falling out the dude said "If you don't buy them here, we charge you for this repair". My own eye doctor's office just repaired for free despite my frames being from Gregory. Sucks a simple repair of putting a screw in will cost $ at Gregory if you didn't buy their lenses.
Highly dissatisfied with lack of organization, integrity and customer service. I have gone to Gregory optical for about 6 years- the last 3 times I've had bad experiences. Dr. Carter is great and quick- I've kept coming because I don't mind his exams. The first issue (pre Covid) Melinda said she would call called me when my lenses arrived. She never did, then when I called weeks later she told me she did call and my voicemail was full (it wasn't). The glasses were off and I had to get them frequently readjusted- they gave me pressure sores on my nose. The next time I knew I wanted to purchase my lenses elsewhere due to my previously poor experience and I drove out of my way to get my prescription- then all the way to purchase my glasses elsewhere- they dated my expiration date for the year prior so I had to make another trip back to get it fixed and then to my other store. That year I was also told I was out of luck my contacts didn't come in my prescription so they gave me a lesser prescription that I couldn't even drive with. This year I came back and I was told by the Dr. I just have to switch brands but the lenses do come in my prescription this year. I went out to order my trials another employee was helping me. I told them he mentioned Acuvue as the brand. The girl was helping me and then Melinda stepped in and kept telling me she was ordering my old biofinity lenses. I explained (3 times) I didn't want those- that wasn't what the dr said and I already had those at home and they weren't my new prescription. The other staff member even gave me a "sorry" look but Melinda kept arguing. Finally she said she would order both the Acuvue and the biofinity. I had given up so I said ok as long as I get the Acuvue. I got an email and 2 texts my sample lenses were ready a week later. I went to pick them up and found out Melinda had only ordered the old lenses in the wrong prescription. I was upset and the male employee told me he would personally make sure they were ordered Monday, include extra sample lenses and call me as soon as the order was in. Monday happened and I called at 430- Melinda answered and said yeah I'm ordering them now. I finally got them a week later- didn't have the extra lenses the other employee had promised. I picked up my prescription this week so I could order my contacts elsewhere- was helped by Melinda and lo and behold- when I went to order my contacts the diameter on my prescription doesn't match the diameter on my sample lenses they gave me and the diameter wrote on my prescription does not come in the brand they prescribed.
For the past 20 years I have purchased eye glasses at my eye doctors office. The past 3 years they have been unable to fit my glasses properly and which has caused me to have difficulty seeing. They made me feel like I was crazy. After 4 times back and forth this year I finally asked for a refund to go elsewhere. I received a refund, but not without the office manager telling me they sell hundreds of glasses and didn't know what my problem was. My sister and friend go to Gregory Optical and said they never heard of such a thing. I went to Gregory Optical. Baltia was was my technician and she is amazing. She is very kind and professional. Baltia spent an hour with me checking the fit and finding the right frame for me. I picked up my glasses this week and it is the first time I have been able to actually wear my new glasses out of the building in 3 years and not feel like they were sucking my eyeballs out of my head. Eye sight is so very important and Gregory Optical is definitely the only place I will go in the future. Thank you!
I go in there and my eyes checked.
Then they take my glasses in the back room to adjust them and comes back my screw holding the lens on is stripped out and can't get it out . They used red Loctite the time before she said but no more so I'm stuck with broken frame which was fine when I went in there. These are expensive frames you can't find get anymore, I m going to search and fine someone to repair them and give them the bill and see what happens.
I ordered and paid for contacts that they will not release to me. I understand they want me to do a contact class, but in that environment I'm am nervous and uncomfortable. I would prefer to practice at home and when it comes down to it I own them. I was unable to reschedule a contact app, because the front desk lady (wasn't allowed to) and told to call back Monday. In a world of online prescription lenses they need to remember its a SERVICE industry.
I usually have a great experience at Gregory Optical, so I have been going there for a couple years now. Unfortunately, I find their customer service is greatly compromised at the simple INQUIRY of canceling an order, which was ultimately not cancelled and that's totally fine- (there's further details as to why I asked about cancelling the order that aren't productive to disclose)- it's the way I was treated after just ASKING that bothers me. The employees I dealt with while trying to figure the situation out over the phone were very UNHELPFUL and RUDE. Franky, I felt targeted. I was posed with rude questions, succinct answers, and too much unnecessary information. No concern for my actual issues was expressed. Thankfully, Rita, a manager, apologized for their very unprofessional behavior, and discovered that my account was actually billed incorrectly at my appt. and I didn't even know that nor was it part of my initial issue. She saved me $63, All because she took the time to listen to my concerns, and take a second look my account without me asking. They are lucky to have Rita. However, I don't quite feel this is an adequate redemption of the very frustrating experience I had, as it was the employees I spoke with that were at fault and did nothing to rectify the issue. I am not sure I want to come back to Gregory Optical, this experience has really shaken my faith in their ability to be consistent in their customer service. It will take some time for me to feel comfortable going to them for my optical needs.
I have been seeing Dr. Carter for a few years now, and really enjoy going to him. He's always thorough in his explanations, has a quirky sense of humor that I enjoy, and is very patient. Rita, the office manager, is also terrific. She has twice found ways to save me money, and helped pick out my first frames and they were perfect for me.....honestly told me what worked and what didn't, which I really appreciated!
