Great Lakes Eye Institute Saginaw

If I could just rate Dr. Dudenhoefer, it would be a 5 plus. He is very knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. He really cares for his patients. The problem is the office staff. This goes for the offices in Caro, Frankenmuth and Saginaw. I have had problems making appointments, getting callbacks and following through with other issues. I have encountered rudeness more than once. They have never taken responsibility for something that wasn't done correctly. It's always someone else's fault-including mine(not true). After this last call, I feel this neglect might affect my safety. Again, I really like Dr. Dudenhoefer but the offices "I don't care" attitude is too much. I need to feel like I matter and it isn't going to happen here.

Please find somewhere else. My friend had surgery here and she was completely awake and could feel needles in her eye the entire time. They did not take care of her or give her the correct instructions to heal properly and had to have the surgery redone somewhere else. They do not show care for their patients at all. They delayed her surgery weeks even though it was an emergency surgery and left her in pain and her vision has been damaged.

Their system has been down since Thursday, it is now Tuesday and they can't tell me if my contacts have come in because of it or even give me a sample set because they "can't look at my prescription" you can't just.. I don't know.. ask me my prescription and look at the box and take my word for it? When did we get so involved in technology at a DOCTOR that you don't have any physical records for any of your patients or any way for your patients to be able to SEE when your system is down for a whole week? Why did I not get a call explaining the situation? Why am I paying full price when the problem is on your end? I understand technical difficulties but it is outrageous that an optometrists office is ill prepared to handle a week long technical failure. I hope this was an eye opener for your office to plan better for this kind of thing and keep PHYSICAL records on top of computer records. Literally just print the pages you typed in out and put them in a filing cabinet. Like hello? How could I come up with a simple solution before a doctor working there did? You just had absolutely no foresight to prepare? Thank God I moved and will never have to deal with this particular company again after I get these contacts.

I only gave this place a 1star rating because the is no 0 option. I have taken my 93 year old mother there several times and there has always been a long wait. Today her appointment was at 2:00 and she got called back at 4:30...after being taken to three separate waiting rooms. Also, their computers have been down for over three weeks, so they couldn't even tell me what the appointment was for. Save yourself some grief and go someplace else.

I visited this place months ago. I should have wrote a review of my horrible experience. This eye care place have long wait times. The doctor nurse Trina has an attitude problem that's needs correcting. For the hour I have been waiting I can see and feel the toxicity seeping out of this place. Avoid this place at all cost and from my experience especially avoid Trina.

I will not recommend any one goes here. Specially if you value your time and don't enjoy waiting 2.5 hours for a simple eye exam that takes 30 minutes at Walmart. Never again!!!!

I went in for an examination today, but I thought I was going to have my eye surgery. The medical assistant that I encounter she was really nice, but she went and asked the nurse named Trina a couple of questions for me and the nurse Trina came in explaining to me that I was not gonna have surgery today, but Her tone was so rude while explaining to me, I then ask her not to speak to me in that tone and she said oh well this is my tone. I told her I would like another nurse. She said too bad. I'm the doctor nurse. I did report her to the Office manager, that assured me this will never happen again. Hopefully things will go better when I go back to have my surgery. But after this I will never go back too many bad reviews too

2nd time I've been there after being referred by VA. First time I waited over 45 minutes past my appointment time. This time my appointment was at 2:00 and wasn't seen until 3:15. The doctor saw me for all of 5 minutes and never asked what was going on. She then tried to prescribe a medication I'm already on (I had informed the tech earlier that I was on the medication and saw her update my electronic file). The doctor then prescribed a steroid treatment that I've already done through the VA (documented in my VA chart that they sent over to Great Lakes). After that the doctor all but hurried me out of the room to go check out. Upon check out, there is no follow up appointment to make sure my condition is getting better. I do not recommend this place at all! I will be contacting VA to let them know how unprofessional they are and the lack of interest they show for their patients. Anderson Eye is such a better place to go!
