Everything about this place has been crooked since I started coming here, and it started before I even had my appointment. Originally, I had specifically asked what my out-of-pocket cost would be after insurance and was told it would be around $50, if that. Based on that information, I agreed to the visit. Weeks later, I received a surprise bill for nearly $300. When I contacted the office, there was no accountability for the estimate I had been given. If I had been told the real and expected cost up front, I would have made a different decision or sought care elsewhere. Patients deserve honest and accurate cost estimates. This experience felt like I was told what I needed to hear just to get me in the door. Also, Beth is the person who takes care of the accounts at this clinic and has zero compassion for anyone struggling or ill. I set up a payment plan and made payments each month, while I also explained that I am seriously ill and am undergoing medical testing/treatment, which has made finances difficult. Despite this, Beth showed no compassion or acknowledgement - not even a simple, "I'm sorry to hear that." Instead, the conversation was focused on repeatedly the threat of collections. When I later had to cancel payment because I ran out of money, the response again centered on the threat of collections, and she refused to hear anything about my medical issues or health. She uses a very unprofessional and dismissive tone with customers. Medical care should always include basic human empathy, especially in billing conversations involving illness and financial hardship. But they are too worried about their small amount of $140. This experience left me feeling pressured, misled, and treated like a balance instead of a human being. I strongly recommend that patients get a written cost estimate before agreeing to care here. Be cautious of verbal billing assurances and be prepared for little flexibility or compassion if financial hardships arise or are possible. Last, I was diagnosed with glaucoma years ago by a doctor over at Mercy. I have also seen specialists at other places who can not decide if I have glaucoma or if they are seeing another defect. Before my visit, Dr. Faulkner stated he could give me a straightforward answer since my original diagnosis had been many years back. After my visit, he could not provide me with any clear answers other than, "Maybe you do, maybe you don't have it." He said he could take me off the eye drops and I could come back in a few weeks to see how things are. When I called the office to see about doing that, they told me the visit would cost more than $50. I forget what they quoted me, but it was not cheap. It may have been closer to $75. That would just be a visit to tell him verbally what I am experiencing and if being off the eye drops has harmed me or not. I just wanted a simple answer, and they promised me one without my needing to spend hundreds of dollars! This place will try anything to get you in the door. Customers beware!

Had cataract surgery on both eyes. Dr. McNaughton did a superb job! Thanks Dr. McNaughton!

I saw eye surgeons in MN and Kansas, and both said I needed a cataract removed. I did not at the time because it was not feasible with my schedule. When I saw McNaughton, he said the cataract wasn't big enough to be removed, even though it severely impacts my vision. His solution was to get stronger glasses. My daughter had a similar experience, in that she went there for an eye condition, was told what was wrong but there was nothing to do about the condition until she suffered for two more weeks of 10% vision and severe pain/inflammation. IN SUM, IF YOU WANT A CURE FOR WHAT IS WRONG, FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR.

Highly recommend. Dr. McNaughton definitely knows his stuff. He and all that we have come in contact with at Eye Surgeons, and the Cox Health Surgery Center, have a terrific 'bedside manner'. The appointments have all been very close to on-time.

Highly recommend Dr.Mcnaughton My son when he was 4 he had to have eye surgery and he did wonderful on him, and we been coming here since and hes 7 yrs old . This man is great and knows his stuff!!
