Missouri Eye Institute

I had LASIK in mid-December and my new eyesight is better than 20/20. I do have a small remaining astigmatism. This is made worse by dry eye which I have. That is one thing they don't tell you. If you have dry eyes before LASIK, you are going to need treatment for it after surgery because it will get worse. We have been treating it and now I am VERY HAPPY with my new vision. Marian and the techs that get you ready for surgery were so comforting and LASIK was quick and easy. Dr. Osborn (surgeon) was excellent. Dr. Carter (follow-up appointments) is kind & considerate of questions or concerns. They always take care of you and what you need, but if you're the type of person who wants to know details of why things are happening, you may be hard up to get those answers. They don't explain. They also way over schedule and you have to wait at appts. It seems like the surgery part (upstairs) is on-point and the clinic office (downstairs) is a circus. Update: They offered me punctal plugs (included in my follow-up) and I didn't know anything about them so I asked to wait until next appt. Came in to get them and they tried to charge me which I politely told them they weren't supposed to. Overheard them talking to a lady in the hall about it who said "nothing in life is free" in a snarky way. She did not know I could hear her. So I did not appreciate that. They did end up honoring their word-- after making me feel like I was asking for a hand-out (that they originally offered).

I arrived at Missouri Eye Institute this past Monday unsure of what to expect. I'm writing this four days later and I'm almost in tears with emotion. The vision in my right eye had deteriorated rapidly this past year to the point I thought I would no longer be able to drive for work. Dr Lenci and staff checked my vision and informed me that Cataract surgery should improve my vision. It is now Saturday morning, four days after surgery and I am absolutely blown away by the results. I am able to see clearly with vision I haven't experienced in at least 15 years. I am so grateful to Dr Lenci and the staff at Missouri Eye Institute. My new vision is way beyond what I expected and I am so thankful I chose the folks there and entrusted them with my eye care. I will remain in awe of the results.. WOW!!!

My visit with Dr. Lenci was wonderful. I was a little overwhelmed with all the information but he was compassionate and explained everything very well. His bedside manner was professional and caring, making eye contact the entire time. The entire staff was also wonderful and explained all the tests in detail.

I've been seeing Dr. Osborn for 3 years. He always explains what's happening with my eyes, and looks at me when he's talking to me. He makes me feel like I matter and he cares about my eye health. I've had excellent care with Dr. Osborn and he has kept my rules stable, and even improved my vision. I couldn't get better care anywhere else.

Dr. Lenci and Missouri Eye Institute absolutely exceeded all expectations. Everyone in this office treated me with kindness respect laid everything out for me on what they could do for me and what they will continue to do in the future for my vision needs. If I ever have to have surgery on my eyes again, I will never go anywhere else.

They are very friendly, nice., and polite. Nurses always checking on you to see if comfortable and prepare you for surgery I would refer Missouri Eye Institute to anyone.

Dr Carter provided outstanding care in my visit postoperative visit today. . He is very knowledgable and addressed all my concerns. I most highly recommend Dr. Chad Carter.
