I have been experiencing issues with my glasses for over three months and have made multiple visits in an effort to resolve them. After 2 visits which included an adjustment and a lens remake, the office finally offered an RX re-check. Dr. Hirsch was excellent; however, she explained that part of the issue was that my frames were too large for progressive lenses. As this was my first time using progressives, I was disappointed that this was not identified during my original fitting.
I was then assisted by a more experienced staff member, who immediately recognized that the frames were too large. She recommended several frames that were appropriately sized and that I liked, but they were significantly more expensive, and I was told I would need to pay the difference. Unfortunately, I did not find any alternative options that suited me. After spending $300 and multiple trips to get this right, I did not want to spend more.
When I asked whether the original associate (and 2nd and 3rd for that matter) should have been aware of the sizing issue, I was told, "I can't answer that," despite the issue being obvious to the final associate. I was informed that the office manager would be contacted and that I would receive a follow-up call, which did not happen as promised. After waiting two days, I called the office and was told a voicemail had been left, which was not the case.
Ultimately, I was informed that I would need to pay the price difference for new frames. I asked if I could return the frames so I could go somewhere else for frames I like. I was told I could not return the glasses due to the 30-day policy, despite the prolonged timeline caused by remakes and instructions to continue trying the lenses. Overall, this experience left me feeling that staff training and management support are lacking, and my concerns were not adequately addressed.
Do yourself a favor and go to the Rock Hill location. I explained my issue and they upgraded my frames at no extra charge with staff that was understanding and knowledgeable.
The new staff tries to assist patients there aren't enough of them. My over $500 glasses came in early Nov. and as I was being fitted and trying to explain the lenses were incorrect the supervisor Carrie Blacharczyk argued with me. Blamed me for not buying top tier lenses. I have worn glasses all my life. I asked that a servive member please sit with me because glasses are important and expensive I stood my ground and got the lenses remaid. Came back when new lenses were ready. Supervisor Tracy yelled will someone help this lady. Staff came out with just lenses asking where my frames were. I said you have them. Frustrated I got a refund and asked for an insurance reversal on the frames/lenses.
10 days later no insurance reversal and they hang up on me. I went back in and yes I was upset. Carrie comes out from the back hostile, glaring, voice raised at least I get the insurance ticket number. I calmly warn ladies in the loby against the business. Carrie tries to escort me out loudly and sarcastically wishing me a good day. Glasses help us drive safely. Help us do our jobs. We get to see and enjoy life. We sometimes put a whole paycheck into them. We deserve quality service and a quality product. You won't get either here.
Visited on 2/5/26. Front desk clerk and tech both told me upon check in that my insurance would cover the visit for the reason I was visiting (minor eye injury), as I specifically asked due to it being my first time there. I turn in paperwork, am given an eye scan a the machine, get taken back to a room. After waiting about 15min the doctor comes in to tell me that they don't accept my insurance for medical optometry appointments. Then she walks me back to the front telling the front desk in front of all the other patients waiting. A very demeaning experience. Complete waste of time as well. The staff needs to be on the same page, given the same information, with the same training. Horrible experience.
Thankfully, Crown Vision Center where my daughter goes was able to see me the next day, and accepted my insurance for medical eye injury.

I will keep coming back.
Thank you!
I made an appointment there and I am a repeat customer and I was called and canceled four different times in a row. The first time was for a doctor emergency, the second time was for office renovations, the third and fourth time were for Dr emergencies. I was canceled four different times in a row and I will not be making another appointment there. It's wasted two months of my time.
The manager Taylor is extremely rude, she did nothing to resolve the issue except try to talk down to me. Then she laughed and said your insurance paid for them not you...umm who do you think pays for my insurance....i do
She was clearly having a bad day and trying to take it out on the customer...per Taylor she has no manager.
I have gone to the Clarkson Eyecare in Webster a few times! I really appreciate their thoroughness and diligence. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The doctor I worked with was helpful, friendly, and prompt with her appointment - however, I did not feel rushed. A few ladies who helped me with the paperwork and getting my glasses picked out and fit for my face & prescription were also very knowledgeable and diligent. I had some issues with my order when it was ready, and they were very helpful in rectifying the error and fixing the problem! While there was an error, they made it right. To me, that was great - we all make mistakes, but I personally appreciated that they were willing to fix it until I was satisfied (I complained I felt my prescription was too weak). They are also prompt and do the best they can with turning around their glasses. Definitely will be going back.
